Are we being misled by our politicians and their support for immigrants? Seems to be based on an ageing population and some economic benefit. Not sure about that at all.
I was more concerned that the support for immigrants comes from organisations that fail to consider the effect on our society. If the majority of immigrants are actually coming from countries that have little or no history of democracy then our way of life might come under threat.
For example the immigrants that went to Australia and the United States had no empathy with the ethos and governance of their First Nations, Aborigines and American Indian tribes.
Might we find our way of life under threat if enough immigrants with say a background of living in a theocracy or a dictatorship started applying their rules for living. Could indigenous Scots succumb to the same fate as Aborigines and American Indians?
They couldn't give a ****, most of these organisations hate the UK and it's history.
They mostly come for the welfare.
A small minority make a contribution, the rest are here for a " better life" thru crime, welfare the black economy.
There isn't surgeons and engineers pouring off these boats......despite what the BBC want everyone to believe
Aborigines hadn't really developed past stone age ......so their "fate" wasnae too bad, the American Indians although more advanced were still pretty primitive albeit more aware of the world around them.....
The brother of the 14 year old person who drowned on the French side of the English Channel trying to get into the U.K. illegally was interviewed on the BBC news tonight (Monday). He has some sort of status to live in the U.K. yet he cannot speak English.
People who arrive illegally and cannot speak English are a drain on us as local authorities and the NHS have to produce extra leaflets in other languages.
In my opinion we make it too easy for people who arrive in the U.K. who cannot speak English.
They should be made to learn to speak and understand English before they are allowed to remain here permanently.
1.2 million immigrants came here in 2022 , the make up of the uk is changing fast , give it a few years and they will have their own political parties
It does seem odd that the outcome of free university places for Scots in Scotland is beginning to have the unintended consequence of fewer Scots being accepted. There is something wrong here. I think it might be that the Scottish politicians don't want to hand over more money for the places that are taken up by Scottish students. Just like they pay a lower price for funding the elderly in care homes. A person paying for their own care seems to be charged a lot more, but perhaps that is because the level of care is higher?
