If the amount the club pays for a player is how you measure a player then you are following the wrong club.

There are a few clubs nearby that some Barnsley folk follow because those clubs like to spend spend spend.

Just a suggestion but you probably would get more peace of mind and satisfaction following those types of clubs.

Just let me remind you how this so called model is supposed to work , you seem either confused , have a poor memory or your gaslit .

We sell our players , the money is reinvested back in to the club to cover running costs and create a decent transfer budget .

So your accusation of Spend , Spend , Spend is completely wide of the mark .

As I remember £8m was raised through transfer sales last summer , a Spend , Spend , Spend opinion would be to demand that we spend £12m .

I'm prepared to factor in the club's financial issues , running costs and so forth but none the less I think it's reasonable to expect that £2m would be made available to reinvest in the squad and give the HC some major impetus to get us up in to the championship , a league where the tv revenue alone is worth £8m .

Now you can defend the ownership all you want , it much doesn't matter to me , we all know on here you've backed yourself in to a corner defending the owners and you've had to resort to cheap shots on a number of posters on here to deflect away what's reality and what spins around in your head .

I haven't left the club , the club's left me .

The importance of this window completely passes the ownership by , unless we do a good number of last minute deals which seems unlikely .

Take a good look at the players either leaving the club as free agents or returning to parent club's next summer .

Let's assume we still reside in league one next season .

If you can't see the problem on the horizon then that says more about you than any of the nonsense you post on here .

That chance IMO is much less than in the 16/17 season.

There are a number of players coming towards the end of their contract this summer.
If they won’t extent then we need buyers.
I would hate to see players that are worth something just walking out of the door.
If any bids come in for these players then IMO we need to put the future of the club before the likely backlash from some bewildered fans.

Then this summer.
New HC.
And money either in the bank or due to us to enable to recruitment team to scope a wider set of players.

This would undoubtedly provide a more solid base to work from next season.

Having read up about the lad from Fleetwood I actually think he might be a useful signing , he is at a good age , experienced & can play in a back three as well as wing back thus covering one or two bases especially with the current Styles situation & Cadden being out of contract in the summer , also he seems to be pretty well thought of from his time at Preston & his time with his present club .

Having read up about the lad from Fleetwood I actually think he might be a useful signing , he is at a good age , experienced & can play in a back three as well as wing back thus covering one or two bases especially with the current Styles situation & Cadden being out of contract in the summer , also he seems to be pretty well thought of from his time at Preston & his time with his present club .

He’s a big athletic unit that on YouTube looks the part.

I think you'll find under Patrick Cryne the sales were north of £20m .

We haven’t got a fit for purpose goalkeeper, we’ve had to borrow one since selling off Collins and Walton then failing to attract Isted.

We haven’t got an experienced centre half after losing Anderson and Kitching unless you count Candy and Pines who haven’t kicked a ball for months.

As shown last Saturday our midfield cover is woeful having to rely on our borrowed 8 goal striker to fill in.

That leaves a choice between two poor strikers in Watters and Cosgrove to choose from as partner for Cole. Jalo out of favour again and Marsh not ready as a starter.

And you’re happy with that?

Then to drive our promotion push we’re strongly linked with a recruit from a bottom of the table outfit who have already conceded 50 goals this season. We’re expected to file this in the cabinet labelled ambition are we?

Earl hasn't been at Preston since 2017 Shads. He has been sent on loan to--

2017 Lancaster City 6 apps
2019 Bolton 9 apps
2020 Ipswich 7 apps
2021 Burton 8 apps
2022 Contract with Preston terminated
2022 Two year contract with Fleetwood ending this summer 54 apps

Good luck to the lad but we are getting, if he signs, a Fleetwood player, not one from Championship Preston.

I have read that we have offloaded Iseka at last, undisclosed fee as expected ( might save some embarrassment given what Conway undisclosedly paid for him). Now the Conway legacy is just the debt he left us in and that the clown still has some shares.

We have to buy his shares back off him and mostly Lee--initial Consortium shares and those they got in Rights Issues.

His biggest legacy is still to come--the EFL Investigation into who controlled the club.

Conway only held 7% of Consortium Shares yet he was made the active Co-Chairman. This was because he represented the New York Investor Group, who owned 20% of the shares. I anticipate that the people in this Investor Group were never revealed by Conway to the EFL or had the necessary diligence done on them. They are--
--Zach Schreiber 9% of shares in BFC
--Joshua Samuelson 5%
--Lee Pollock 2.75%
--Matthew Edmonds 3.25%, husband of JAQ

Only Edmonds remains, represented by JAQ, the rest selling up. Look out for these names in the EFL findings.
