Did anyone think the pitch looked poor compared to previous seasons? Russell Martin said it was a tough pitch and his players said it was the toughest pitch all season,. We used to be praised for our pitch have we also given up on that side too?

It hasn't looked up to its usual immaculatel standard for quite a while but I think the comments from Southampton were a bit over the top.
Can you imagine if some of them had had to play in the 1980s or earlier? 🤔

Looked a bit thin and pale.
    Needs sun on it

Much better than Hillsborough though and pitch at the Emirates yesterday looked a bit worn

That’s rich , him moaning about how tough the pitch was when one of his subs was warming up on it most the first half .

And the goalkeepers doing their warm up in the match nets and not the temporary goals supplied for doing that

Same with Peterborough United's pitch on Saturday, it looked shocking.

Remember Derby County's old Baseball Ground, mud wrestling would have been at home there.
The big problem was that the pitch surface was below the street levels, so caused problems with drainage.

They certainly spent enough time rolling over on it.

Southampton FC the best team to come to the NYS this season, with a side who were
organised & well drilled in their approach to the game.

What took my notice was their 21 year old goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu played most of
the game in the position of being a sweeper, never known a goalkeeper who was so
far out from his penalty area.
Bazunu is the Republic of Ireland football team goalkeeper.

Victor again saved the Millers from a hammering, & Kioso played a good game.

Bazuna cost 11 million and signed on a 4 year deal. We can only dream
