Thread: Hull City Post Match Thoughts

  1. #41
The club is falling apart. It is as clear as day. Yet the fact that those at the top once did something well means some that for some supporters those responsible are immune to criticism.

Brian Clough for example was a superb manager once upon a time but his final season was an absolute disaster and Forest fans were completely divided between those that refused to criticise him because of the glory years and those that could see the decline, his waning abilities and the poor decisions he made. Forest it could be argued took years to recover from the delay in pointing out that Clough was the problem.

Last night was embarrassing. The shambolic anthem- the taking the knee- the retaken kick off etc was dreadful. We are more like a WMC in the 70's than a football club. Add to that Rathbone's abysmal decision making and Richardson refusing to take off a player who was clearly injured which all crystallised into the most amateurish 90 minutes I have ever seen at RUFC

We are going down and down and I just don't know where we bottom out but this is bad. Real bad.

I think he's probably been told to say that by the club to give us the impression it's all ok.

He's probably also got too much integrity and professionalism to just flatly say that Rob Scott is a mile out of his depth, and the chairman is clueless.

    wrong manager

He’s got criticism for his approach to games which up to last night was negative and never going to get us a result unless we got lucky eg Middlesbrough at home. Sacking MT was supposed to give us a fighting chance to stay up. LR tactics have taken us backwards in that the one thing we had under MT was a chance at home. Just because he’s new doesn’t make him exempt from criticism.
You make some valid points about the philosophy and how we approach things. I agree with a lot of it.
Many people are to blame for the state we are in now.
LR will be judged for the performances on the pitch and yes he’s inherited a difficult situation however has he set us up to try and win a game?
No he hasn’t and he’s responsible for that.
Last night was better and have a go that’s all we ask.
TS sacked MT without a clue who he wanted as next manager - he just hoped that someone who he approved of applied for the job. Mistake - a proper club would have sounded out available managers before sacking an out of his depth manager. TS then took a punt on third choice. He should have stuck with MT until he had the financial offer in place to attract a proper manager. Amateur club with autocrat as chairman = trouble

The inept Richardson fails to take any responsibility. It's all down to what happened "before i entered the building" he bleats in every interview.

They should just put last night's post match in the can and replay it after the next 15 games! We get that they are hell bent on touring the country to give a good account of themselves.....it's been said on the last 10 interviews! What have the club now 'discovered' that will make them sustainable in the Championship that they haven't discovered over the last 10 years? What is this 'eureka' moment? I thought we'd discovered it in the Summer! Is it giving Rob Scott a few more jobs to do? Is it giving Doris total control over catering as well as light refreshments? What is this 'drum roll' that LR started in his interview last night?

What makes you think he was 3rd choice? He should be so lucky. 5th choice, after Wilder, Jones, Rowett and Warburton all said no. That in itself speaks volumes.

Maybe the plan this time is not telling us what the plan is so we can’t tell if it”s worked or not..!..

My view on rob scott he is basically now the “4th
Official “..and will get flak from all sides..

Maybe Swiss Tony like he once said about the managerial merry go round he didn’t want to go there and appointed Warne…now he might think no more journey men footballers and go with homegrown youth..who knows..
