if relegated we will need a captain to lead us and a manager to motivate us, we seem to be lacking both at the moment.

Chris I think cullen has more idea than the lot who are playing now - I think Brownhills head is already turned and won’t be here anyway

Do you think VK will trust Cullen Army? Won't he try to sign someone he thinks can manage the PL?

Last season's Player of the Year can't get a game.

    Just WTF is going on?

To be honest, I do not understand why Cullen is not being played. He was excellent last season. I fail to see that Ramsey, Berge and Brownhill are setting the world on fire.

Cullen may not be the most talented player in the PL, but he has grit and is a fighter. I am guessing that he is a communicator as well. Attributed sadly lacking at the moment.

Cruel to say Will but we’re going down and cullen can deal with the championship cut and thrust so he’s a ready made captain - aggressive midfielder without us spending.

I think in 12 months time if we’re getting promoted again we’d spend on a midfielder but until then I think he’d serve us well.

I’m a bit torn now as cullen was a favourite last year but when we started in this league it was apparent he wasn’t big enough to play centrally ie physicality and height - headers etc.

Interestingly I posted a few times that we d have to change shape to accommodate him in a five centrally - which. VK seems reluctant to do - imo we’d be harder to beat with him in front of the back 4 - we still need to be able to score goals though and we’re struggling at that as well at the minute.

I like Berge as a footballer and when he has a head of steam running he’s hard to stop - but when players pass him going the other way he struggles to stay / go with them at prem level however in the championship he’ll be Ok I’d imagine.

I know. But was VK not supposed to develop these players into cutting it at PL level? I heard him say it was no shame in players struggling in the PL, it was a completely different animal/beast (something like that) to deal with. I think that is putting all of the responsibility on young players.
Maybe I’m hopelessly romantic with my idea of “built not bought”, but I do not like how VK is constantly after buying what seems to be more talent instead of spending a bit more time building and developing, finding a way to compete with what we have.

It seems we have a long list of players who are struggling or would "struggle in the Premier League". Let's hope at least we now know why
