As for tonight’s game I really do not know what to think. How we have conspired to lose to a team twice that have been bottom of the league nearly all season and have only won three other games in the league all season is sobering. We’ve also conceded nine goals to them. The warning was there at Sutton though on the opening day of our vulnerability and fragility out of possession and defending as a team. Six months later and we have conceded the second highest amount of goals in League Two and only one less than Sutton. It’s dragged us down when we have scored the highest number of goals in the league.

What this tells us is we attack like a league one team and defend like a national league team.

It was technical v physical tonight and once again the physical won the battle. It was also a case of who wanted it more, Sutton trying to stay up, or us trying to get in the playoffs. Hunger, heart and desire won.

Not so long ago we would complete 20-30 passes in a row and not make a single error. It was clean, smooth and tidy. Tonight we were struggling at times to make two or three without giving the ball away. There was a period in the second half where the ball was being played in our defensive third it was horrendously bad by both teams. Like an amateur game on the park where the ball just gets kicked and possession is lost to the opposition.

There are individual errors popping up all over the pitch in each game. We also have in game tactical and formation changes and flexibility which is a plan a,b and c.

SM really needed a win tonight but now we have had our third straight loss at home since 2016 so a new low under the Reedz Brothers.
SM is out of his depth in this league.
