God knows what it’s like in poorer areas.
Our schools are having to close facilities because the Government insists that H&S building repairs are paid for out of existing budgets, the police are struggling because they too are underfunded, the NHS waiting lists are unprecedentedly high and our roads and railways are a disgrace.
Maybe, just maybe, such matters should matter more and be of more universal importance to voters than migration, which Party the idiotic (imo) Lee Anderson is going to join this week…or even Princess Charlotte’s sleeve!
There you go again, cherry picking one part of the argument.
Last year, 750 000 net migration?
Are you going to ignore that and keep blaming your Dr woes solely on Tory rule? NHS/HOUSING/TRANSPORT/ SERVICES are under massive pressure of migration, purely by the volume of traffic flooding in.
You might not accept that as an issue but many of us do. Your woes are far reaching and the Tories are comlicit, by not plugging the avenues started by Blair. WE NEED 616 000 new homes a year, just to cope with immigration flood alone.

So yearh, my obsession as you call it, is based on raw facts. Not your mamby pamby wails of the right are shouting again.

    IMMIGRATION IS NEEDED.
BUT IT NEEDS TO BE MANAGED AS WELL.

Brits preferred places to migrate to, like Canada/New Zealand/ Australia have strict rules and amounts set each year.
Many hoops to jump through, based on that countries needs. Age/ health/ skills/ assets.
They don't allow any clown to come and drag their families along for the ride either.

just for you Maddy, seeing as regard it as funny. Holland certainly doesn't have the same problems, especially as you look closely at the demographics of whose coming in.

Cherry picking and wailing? Duck me…that’s good coming from Mr. Single issue/obsessive.
Just trying to broaden the subject to where it was before you joined in, Tricky.

As for blaming my ‘Dr woes on Tory rule’…let’s just say - and I know this is all anecdotal - 45 years ago when I moved to the Ashbourne area I could get a doctors appointment when I needed one. The facilities weren’t great but the GP’s - no not that one - were. Under Blair provision was made to build a new hospital and health centre - as it was in Derby - and the facilities improved enormously in the early part of this century. Then God knows what happened, you can book on line now, that’s convenient…until you find there’s a 15 week wait unless the condition is ‘urgent’.

Now you can blame it all on immigrants if you wish…and the crumbling schools, HS2 and potholes too no doubt…except, as I’ve said, there’re very few immigrants in Ashbourne. Many of the Poles went back after your beloved Brexit leaving just a smattering and virtually none of those Muslims you’re so fond of…so who knows…perhaps responsibility might lie with the last 14 years of incompetent government. Just a thought.

Which is exactly what you do. But you blew your xenophobic, racist tendencies a long time ago and more recently with your wild claims re child ***ual abuse, foreign criminals, terrorists and the like. so its a bit rich trying to portray the reasonable man's view of controlling immigration and in any case you have got what you wanted a pts based immigration system, the fact that levels of immigration are still higher than you want is based on your prejudice and false beliefs.

14 years of austerity, cuts to services, just one example, over the last decade, there has been a net loss of 130,000 council/social homes, because of the failure to build more and the continual sell off of homes. Dental services have crashed due to underfunding, Dentists do minimal work for the NHS because the level of payments from the NHS isn't worth it. The overall health service, the education service and all local authorities have had cuts in real terms that have resulted in services being decimated.

Given that the vast majority of immigrants work and pay taxes, the UK would be in an even worse state without them.

This is all a direct result of policies that have seen most peoples real incomes static for a decade. All the time the Tories and other Right Wing parties have fed you and the credulous millions this fake news that immigration has created the situation we have today.

Its not true, but by the time you dumb ****ers wake up, it will be too late.

Its governments job to have policies and implement them that ensures infrastructure and services get the funding that keep s pace with the population. After all that's what happened in the 1950's and 1960's when the population growth occurred, though of course t was mainly births to current residents that fuelled that so nobody batted an eye.

As Hitler did by demonising the Jews, so the Tories and UKIP, Reform etc. are doing by demonising immigrants and you trotting out the same old tropes means that any "reasonable" issues with the management of immigration are not properly discussed.

    lol hilarious.

ARE YOU SERIOUSLY TRYIING TO TELL ME, THAT THIS IS A FAIR POINTS BASED SYSTEM?
    Total poppycock
The government could trim it down over night if it wanted, but won't, because it is just like Labours dream of cheap labour and lobbying for votes.

    OK just for you- xenophobic
    /ˌzɛnəˈfəʊbɪk/
    adjective
having or showing a dislike of or prejudice against people from other countries.
    "xenophobic attitudes"

    racist
    /ˈreɪsɪst/
    adjective
characterized by or showing prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism against a person or people on the basis of their membership of a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalized.

No show me where my " predjudices" fall into those boundries. I can prove my way around them more than you can Lord Preach

EU immigration peaked in 2015. 2019 saw a double surge of outside immigration. That is solely on the Tories.
Housing falls didn't happen over night, neither did NHS faulures. But drag in net 750 000 in one year, WTF did you think was going happen?

As for the crime, the figure are there. ETHNIC MINORITES, ARE higher than the white population of crime by proprtion. That is a fact.
Perhaps you enjoyed one of the many Turkish barbers services lately, springing up in your high street?
You a re aware thay are criminal fronts aren't you? For laundering millions in illegal cash from drugs/theft/prostitution?
You keep banging your drum Swale.
Migration has Been killing Europe for a while. They have finally realised this, and are clamping down.
Now the surge we are getting are those who have decided the UK is a massive soft touch and a free ride is to be had.
The problem is, its the poorer end of the public here that sufffer.
MP's didn't give a monkeys until it started to hit them. Now they want millions for protection.
I aint getting personal with you swale, you aint worth the effort.

    UK population 2000 58.7 MILLION
    UK popualation 2024 67.9 million.

give it some thought as why we are short of NHS facilities and costs
Here is your expenditure on health and much it has risen.
You say incompetent government, i say yes, but stop excusing importing the world and its burden sucking it dry.

I think I’ve mentioned before I’ve recently moved practises, both about the same catchment and affluence, the former ‘just alright’ and ‘getting more difficult to see a doctor’, the latter absolutely **** hot, I’ve yet to fail to see a doctor (or other appropriate professional) either on the day or on the appropriate date within a few days where they use a travelling specialist. A lot of peoples’ whinges about general practise is due to process failures within the practises, not all but a good proportion IMO and again as I’ve mentioned before Mrs F and I having come from process improvement and customer relations disciplines can see where the differences arise

Regarding Ashbourne, a genuine question, do you not think that the situation you mention to some degree conditions your opinion?
