I have been trying to leave for years

.....Give over, you wouldn't survive without posting on here and you know it.

Back to NYSRich' point, without sounding patronising, just don't log in, I know it's hard but thats the easiest fix.

There is another way and it's the most cynical but it has to be a 'personal request' from those wishing to leave. Just ask for a permanent ban then you will never be able to log back in again under your current username. That will then be a true power of wills as to whether you never post again using a new username.
