The thing is with the way Notts play, it’s so driven into patterns that a decent percentage of the time, Baldwin doesn’t need to look because he knows where his teammates should be when he has the ball in various scenarios. Especially the ball back to his GK. Often Baldwin doesn’t look and generally makes the pass; it’s so drilled into him where the GK should be and into the GK where they should go. I understand that sometimes you’ve got to look, but that’s how football is coached nowadays.

That example lends itself perfectly to the whole issue. Is Baldwin making those mistakes because he’s not good enough or is he being asked to do too much.
He is not good enough to do what he is asked. So not good enough for the way we want to play.
OK, so some may say lets change the way we play to suit Baldwin. No, the answer is not to renew his contract at the end of the season.
