They didn't one day find just themselves with a football club to run
Khaleds fault for Collins appointment

These owners did not take over the leadership of the club from Patrick Cryne - they were only part of the board of directors.
Chien Lee being the major shareholder put Conway in total charge of the club.
We didn’t know exactly when it happened - but the board split into two groups.
Lee / Conway.
Neerav / JAQ / Crynes
When an option came available to do so the Neerav group wrestled the club away from Lee and Conway.
IMO - Khaled (a Conway appointment) has been responsible for many of the every day running and mistakes at the club. Things like:
West Stand
Replica shirts
FA Cup
The Collins appointment
Etc etc.
These were all done under Khaled.
I don’t think Khaled just left the club - I think he was shown the door - as in ‘find another job’.
There wasn’t much sorrow expressed by the club when he left.
And when he did leave the club, his job was split into two positions.
Obviously the board believing that all the mistakes that were being made was a result of too much responsibility for just one person to deal with.
So they appointed a new CEO and also appointed a DoF.
Supporters have to understand that yes - Neerav, JAQ and the Crynes are not football people that have been involved in the game from an early age.
But how many directors of football clubs have?
In the case of Neerav and JAQ they have bought shares in the club - become fans - and then found themselves actually running the club.
Like most of us fans they are just fans.
It’s important to remember that Neerav and JAQ live in foreign countries and they employ people at Oakwell to actually run the club.

To repeat again---
1)....Lee and Conway were Co Chairmen of the original Consortium. The New York Investor Group (20% of shares) made Conway (0nly 7% of shares) their representative as it was Conway who had pitched the scheme to them as a Special Aquisition Company on the New York finance market and the Group wanted him to take day to day control as a condition of joining the Consortium.
2)... The Hedge Funds making up the Investor Group ditched Conway after four years after he had failed to deliver the promised profits from asset sales and player trading. Their 20% of shares were aligned to Parekh giving Parekh the balance of power in the Boardroom. Parekh did no wrestling. The balance of power was handed to him on a plate.

This last parts gone really well with the Thalhammer incident- really nipped the problem in the bud. Do we need to sack one or both of these - I’m not sure which one is head of EU National work permits , or it could be that they forgot this bit in the job description as we’ve never appointed an EU National before
I am curious Jules , why would she not have her fingerprints over this ? she has come as secretary who would be responsible surely for administration , a work permit would fall under her remit but choose what it has turned out to be another massive own goal.
Ann Hough started work at Oakwell in early March this year. We were flying high then in the league.
Late March and April saw the slump in form and Season Ticket sales and presumably the Board were then looking at potential replacements, including Thalhammer, ready to announce the new HC the day after Collins was sacked. Pre contract discussions were agreed with Thalhammer and he flew in to the UK to finalise things only to discover he didn't meet the Work Visa requirements.
Surely someone at the club, possibly Ann Hough, could have said to the Chairman/ CEO whoever, " Cough. Excuse me but this chap doesn't meet the Work Visa experience requirements to be a Head Coach in the UK" and said this when Thalhammer's name first came up for consideration.
We maybe dodged a bullet but it was another fine mess we gotten ourselves into down Grove Street Way.
