It's one of the great myths that Neil Warnock's Notts team didn't play football. We did play some very entertaining stuff, as you would expect with good players like Thomas, Draper, Lund and Johnson in the team, but we played it in the opponent's half and didn't invite pressure on our own goal. we were also very physical out of possession, such that a number of opponents with bigger name players didn't want to keep the ball for long, which negated their strengths.

Put it this way, there was a world of difference, in terms of quality of football and entertainment, between Neil Warnock's teams and, say, Steve Thompson's team, who really were hoofballers.

We also played with pace. Bartlett,Tommy, big Dave wasn't slow either. Said many a time on here. Defenders hate players with pace. Maybe I'm old school but play footie in the opponents half not across your 18yd box from a effing goal kick. Pressure when not needed

    Braintree won 4-3 at Worthing.

Doncaster are 1-0 up at Crewe, Crewe look like rabbits in the headlights.

Notts type goal too for Donny , cut back from goal line good finish by Molyneux. Biggins unlucky not to add a second.
Mornflake Stand filled to capacity, looked more Notts fans than home fans in the infamous Gresty Road game. Crewe obviously missing Danny their resident assistant .

Spot on comments from Glad2beapie & Irishpete.
Warnock's teams had defenders who can defend too. Certainly with Notts last season attack was the best form of defence.

2-0 Donny now, Crewe look about as interested as their fans sound.

2-0 Donny , Biggins the scorer after a mistake by Demetriou.
Very satisfying after Crewe's s* housery v Notts in both games and Demetriou's violent, unpunished assault on Didzy.
