lol, well he is. He defends, he works well when in midfield and we know he’s a good attacking option.

I would agree 2 million would be a poor price! Townsend is the one who should be replaced!

Furlong.. he defends not very well, goes missing when booked early, works well in midfield and is a good attacking option, anybody offering 2 million I’d snap their hands off, as for Townsend a couple of green shield stamp books will do

He's 28 years old going into the last year of his contract on the back of his best season to date. Not just for us. Ever. By a mile.

Has definitely improved under CC but with the greatest of respect to Darnell like all players he still has his lapses, probably won't get any better and his athleticism won't last forever either.

If anyone offers us a straight £2M for him I'd be inclined to accept rather than offer a new deal because of the above and because we’ve held onto far too many players for too long over the years.

A younger replacement doesn't automatically mean instantly better but the upside is they would have more room for improvement and the potential for us to sell on at a higher price.

We need to get more savvy with player recruitment and retention as it's been our Achilles for far too long. And whatever happens we can't afford for him to do a Sam Johnstone and let his contract run down.
