Thread: No Lamps ?

  1. #21
I'm having mixed feelings and contradictory ideas about Lampard becoming our next manager. He's a southerner for a start and he's won nowt for another.

Everton fans could not wait to get shut but WTF he's as good a shout as anyone.

Like I said previously, leave it with Alan Pace, if it all goes tits up it's his fault.

He most certainly certainly would not mon ami, and I remain of the opinion that Charlie Taylor on two legs would be of far more use than Luke Shaw on one.

To be honest mon ami I wasn't impressed when his name was first mentioned, didn't get Derby promoted, couldn't turn Everton round and a disastrous back end of the season with Potter's Chelsea team. But that was all I knew, so I dug into his record a lot deeper and found it was far more impressive than I ever imagined. In his one full season at Chelsea he got more points than Poch in his one full season, his overall win % at Derby, Everton and his two spells at Chelsea is higher than Graham Potter's at Swansea, Brighton and Chelsea, and on a par with De Zerbi and Thomas Frank. If we were in for any of those four our fans would be doing handstands but for some reason Lampard is not a popular choice. Bit unfair on Lampard imo.

    Maybe it's because he's a Londoner?

So was Dean Marney, and we all loved Deano.

Heart. Soul. Passion. How could we not love Deano?

Interestingly Sinkov he was on talk sport on Friday and imo came across very well - handled himself and them beautifully tbh and when asked re Burnley said he was looking for somewhere that was the right fit - basically saying he’d had some good life skills from Derby - dissapiointment and Chelsea euphoria to Everton restrictions and pressure and Chelsea again where it was toxic and players wanted out etc.

It’s a strange world behind closed doors is t it ? 200k a week players who sulk and don’t want to play for a club - most of us dreamt of the 200k a week but never dreamt once about not wanting to play.

    Funny old game.

It may be Pace is waiting for the new Lamps for old offer to come along but I am sure one way or another we will get Aladdin.

Have to say I'm impressed with the tight ship Mr Pace is running, not much got out when Sean was in charge and not much is getting out now, no one seems to know what's happening, or what's likely to happen, neither fans nor media, and the rumours have dried up, just vague mentions of RVN to add to Bellamy, Lamps and Parker.

Hopefully it's a hive of activity behind closed doors and this news vacuum is not because Mr Pace doesn't know what's happening either.
