Stable lad tells me Cam has a release clause in his contract if we went down, hence why all this may have started. He’s may have had his agent on the line saying he doesn’t fancy League 1 football.

I don’t want us to stall on this, if needs must then sell him and pronto as that will be another defensive position we will have to fill.

Get Barry Fry on a retainer to sell for us. he’ll get 2-3 Million for him, well he would have done so if he was a Posh player.

I think this summer is a full changing of the guard, so I expect at least 2 more if not 3 to leave. If they are not interested get shut as early as possible and get replacements in, even with 7 signings we are a long way from a full squad. 17 players left and 7in, if 3 more leave that leaves us 13 players short of the numbers we had at the end of the season. Now some of the 17 were youngsters or fringe players but Viktor, Lindsay, Humphrey’s, Hugill and Tiehi are not (the last three current rumours to go) so that is at least 5 quality signings required and I suspect we will need more. July will be a big month for us and getting a squad rebuild like that to work from the start will be very hard, it could be October before we see the team perform to the levels required for a top six finish.

If he has a release clause in his contract the only card we hold is that we are guaranteed the amount stipulated in it if he moves on.
Other than that, Humphreys holds all the cards and will be able to negotiate the best personal terms for himself with whichever clubs might want to sign him.
It's exactly the same situation as we had with Viktor
