Any pro over 25 worth his salt knows how fickle fans are and with a couple of goals and a bit of effort, the fans will be chanting your name.

More *******s about the fans not giving Amdouni a chance. Last seasons Burnley fans must have been the most loyal and tolerant in the history of football. Look at the easy ride Kompany got.
Amdouni got a fair crack of the whip, but he did nothing to warrant fans support, he strolled around the park fannyin about like a school boy

Best advice I could give Pace is get what you can for Amdouni and Weghorst, as they're not what we need
No one said he didn’t play for us because of fan abuse- the first time he got slagged off for not scoring goals to keep us in the league when he was told by the national team coach if he didn’t play higher level football he wouldn’t / couldn’t be selected.

The season in between we gained promotion to the premiership again he came back to us played a pre season game and the deadwood s booed him - when the point was it was top level football and he would have been ( exactly as your description) a fully committed run through walls - chase everything down type player for us - imo anyway that would have made us a stronger team last season and potentially given us more chances in more games ( we’ll never know ).

As for Amdouni we needed to have the ball more for him to be effective in the right positions of the pitch -VK got shape and personnel wrong quite a bit last season ( however it’s a game of opinions we all know that ).
But for me just 100% just isn’t enough anymore

Interesting that Dyche seems to be linked to a lot of our players so VK must have had something right

Esteve - Assignon and Larsen in the last two weeks or. So

I think I’m a little more tolerant than you in just expecting players to tie their laces day 1 and mould into a team and deliver attractive football oh and Win more than lose .

It didn’t work last year but let’s say section of our fans are too quick to write / slag players off imo.

Weghorst will go for let’s say 5/6 million which tells me at his age he’s still a decent player and of the 12 million he cost 4 season back he’s better than we give him credit for.

The top and bottom of it is Weghorst is a very decent footballer who scores goals. Sometimes a player and his club share no congruence for many reasons. I hope Pace takes the best offer and sends Weggy on his way ASAP. He still has 3/4 good seasons left in him.

I can only remember one other player coming to Turf Moor who was as unpopular as Weghorst.

It's competition time, can anyone remember Paul Stewart?

The much maligned Wout, who many fans consider was solely responsible for our not avoiding relegation in 2021/22, because of his 'attitude'
When he played his first game for the Clarets it was our 19th of the season and our record up to then was P18 W1 D9 L8 F16 A27 Pts 12 --this equates to 0.66 points per game.
He then started the next 17 games and our record was P17 W6 D4 L7 F16 A22 Pts 22 ---this equates to 1.29 points per game.
He was then left out of the last three games of the season, coming on as a late sub in each and our record was P3 W0 D1 L2 F2 A4 Pts 1 ----just 0.33 points per game.
Had we won one of those last 3 matches or, kept up the average of 1.29 points per game, we would have stayed up at the expense of Leeds because we had a much better goal difference.

Ah well, poor Wout will have to live with the fact that he was to blame because we had been doing so well when he wasn't playing for us.

I have never liked it when our own "fans" single out one particular player for criticism. I have mentioned previously my mate took great exception to a "fan" who was also a season ticket holder and was seated directly behind us. He constantly gave Paul Weller dog's abuse, Stevie my mate asked him to stop because at the time we had 2 wives & 5 kids all going to the matches with us, but he carried on.

I think it was Boxing Day and off he ranted, Steve turned round and smashed him right in the mush with a left hook Henry Cooper would have been proud of. We never saw the eejit again.

I remember him, we signed him on loan from Liverpool, if I remember right he looked a bit overweight and didn't seem very keen on running. I think he's possibly best remembered now as one of the answers to the quiz question, 'Which players have played in a North London derby, a Manchester derby, a Merseyside derby and a North East derby' ?

The gestures he gave to the Longside didn't help him
