    Starmer lies more than Johnson

Bet you never thought i’d be saying that, but I have to admit it’s true.

Love the audience member the other asking Starmer and Sunak if they are the best we’ve got. I do start to wonder whether incompetent (and competent with flaws) are deliberately pushed up the chain to become leaders - so when they push a narrative, whatever it might be.. it’s easier to blame that individual for it. i.e Biden. Done with politics but i’ll be voting but in protest.

Very rarely disagree with you, but I will on this.

Johnson was on another level to almost everyone when it came to lying.

Starmer isn't perfect, but at least he's competent. Even though I no longer vote Labour, I'd rather they get in than the Tories.

I also thought that question was attention seeking and in bad taste.

Lying? If you tell just one lie, then by definition, you are a liar, similarly, tell two or three lies, you are the same. He who tells too many lies to count, is also a liar. All politicians have fibbed greatly in their parliamentary careers and I doubt that anyone has kept count of such utterances from any one of them. So, one may well suspect that dear old Boris has racked up somewhat more untruths than ‘boring but reliable (?)’ Sir Keir but nobody can say for certain. Then there is poor little Rishi, where does he stand in the league table of porkies?

Anyway, it’s not mean to be ‘presidential’, so vote for the best candidate for your constituency.

I’ve tried to warm to Starmer, it’s just not worked. He probably has Blair as his mentor and being funded by some media tycoon. I just can’t accept anything coming out of him anymore. If there ever was a time to have Andy Burnham, it’s now.
Starmer is only going to win this because Tories have done so bad over the 14 odd years, not what labour can do for us. I won’t be able to forgive what the Tories have done, but change in government is very much needed. But just why is the alternative (in my view) just marginally better?
I think a lot of people on here would have asked get same question as that guy in the audience, me included.

The media tycoon funding idea aside, cannot but agree with you.

The lies and self interests of the Tory elite have f ucked up the country over the past 14 years and as a consequence they have f ucked up their chances of re-election. The problem is that the alternatives-though perhaps better in some ways-are still far from convincing.

Tbh, the sheer range of issues that need resolving now in the country are probably beyond any one party and there are no easy fixes but I too cannot warm to Starmer. Whatever the spin the Tory supporting press put on it, in many ways Starmer will not be radical enough on some things for fear of losing centrist support. Key issues like education and the NHS , for example, I personally believe need a complete re-think in order to make them fit for purpose but cannot see him doing it.

And yes, I agree with you that the likes of Andy Burnham would be a better shout

I predict 5 years of treading water at best under the burden of further personal and individual taxation.

Starmer has a complete lack of vision.

    Sadly, so does Sunak.

The lack of awareness to stand there spouting about lower taxes under a Conservative Government is staggering.

Sunak and Johnson have actually been the least “Conservative” leaders I can remember, the supposed ethos of the party have been trashed under them.

Hunt has been a dreadful Chancellor, anti business, anti tax payer, anti human being…..I hope we’ve seen the last of that plank of nothingness.

Hunt is the Tory Starmer, both are brimming with absolutely nothing.
