Sibley's "offer" at DCFC was for a small fraction of his current deal so no way would he be accepting that and DCFC knew it.. Derby have put out the "we offered him a deal but he turned us down" line, which then means that whoever steps in, won't get him as a free out of contract signing but will have to pay Derby compensation (based on his age and length of service there through the academy upwards and the 6 years worth of development resources they've put into him) It is quite a commonplace thing teams do in cases like this. Hell of a player in the making though
