In place soon please before Eddie Howe turns us into 2018 Bournemouth
I reckon we'll have one in very soon now the PSR deadline has gone and we've moved Ashworth on.
The situation as I see it, facts without emotions:
1 - 2nd of July. The window closes Sept 1st = 61 days (we did 4 signings 2 in, 2 out in 3 days)
2 - We've just cleared a boat load of financial issues.
3- The Sela & Champions League money is now available. We are now clear to make some top-quality signings
4 - The Euros & Copa America are on, none of the top-quality players are available to make transfers. Players who have moved are mostly squad players with a few notable exceptions
5 - NO ONE IS TALKING ABOUT – We just broke our record player sale fee TWICE for two players who are not considered ‘key players’ – this is great business
6 - the 21/22 season finances are now off the books = £110m
€42.10m - Bruno Guimarães
€30.00m - Chris Wood
€29.40m - Joe Willock
€15.00m - Dan Burn
€14.00m - Kieran Trippier
6a) The next 3 yrs period look a lot better
6b) We didn't sign anyone in January 2024
6c) 22/23 - Sales = £11.85m
6d) 23/24 - Sales = £37.75m not including Anderson (£35m), Minteh (£33m)
6e) 24/25 - Sales = £68m if the above 2 are included in this year’s accounts as mentioned on TM

8 - Minteh is not the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ
8a) Why are we crying over 1 youth prospect he just made the club £26m in pure profit without kicking a ball?
8b) If it was the old days I'd be raging as we'd have no hope of any quality coming in
8c) I couldn't care less about Minteh, there will be 100 minteh's coming and going in the next few years
8d) Minteh - The lad could go on to win a Balon D'or. He might not. If he does, good luck to him. So what if he does? This is football players leave. We kept the players we needed to keep
9 - Anderson was arguably 6-7th choice CMF, 3rd choice behind Willock & J7
9a) the lad is gonna play every week for Forest
9b) he'd only see games if we had another injury nightmare
9c) good move for everyone and good money
10 - We kept all our key players together, Bruno, Isak & Gordon most importantly. There were low ball offers for all 3 from the snipers. The club didn't buckle and go the job done with the sale of Anderson & Minteh.
11 - Miggy & Wilson exit deals are being worked on with a potential for another £30-40m in profit & wages off the books
12 – The club is doing what we’ve all talked about all season & all wanted to clear the deadwood and being ruthless to generate money and ringfence of superstars. I don’t understand why people complain when the club are ruthless and do good business
13 - Ashworth the rat has gone & we’ve made a good profit on him too. Good riddance!
14 – The club were seriously in the mix to sign Olise, who has decided, by the look of things to go to Bayern. Not so long ago we failed in signing Chaudry from Leicester on loan or taking that Algerian striker as that’s all we could attract.
15 – The club has signed 9 quality FIRST TEAM players over the first two seasons. Bruno, BDB, Isak, Tripz, Tino, Hall, Tonali, Barnes, Gordon and 1 solid professional who will improve the squad Kelly. Working on this as a guide, with the improved commercial income we maintain that dynamic, the club bring in 3-4 equally quality players in 3 yrs the board will have replaced the entire first team 11.
16 - The board now have freedom to operate cleanly in the market and bring in the top quality first teamers we need to replace the weak links in the squad
So, what is all the panic, grumbling and moaning about?
Excellent well reasoned and (hopefully) calming appraisal of the situation. We are in an incredible position to move forward in our next 2 windows.
Perfectly summed up Ragatino. Are you putting yourself up for D.o.F.?![]()
I think the end of the season after next, after four transfer windows, will really determine where we are, and more importantly, our standing among the present known big six.
I predict on that we will be a comfortable 2nd or 3rd with a couple of the phonies relegated to also rans.
Good analysis, Raga. As fickle football supporters we always want more but, you’re right, we should all have a step back and have a good think about where we’ve come from, what we’ve done and how short a time it’s taken.
We all have a lot of emotion invested in the success of the club.
After 14 yrs of being in an abusive relationship with the previous owner, that psychology still hangs around the club.
The people in charge of the club now are people who have managed wealth in the hundreds of millions if not the billions.
They are not the kind of people to not have plan a,b,c,d & e.
Quite simply, no one outside of a very small group, Mehrdad, Amanda, Sheikh Yasir and Eales will know what the actual state of play is. Ashworth was a weak link in the group that is clear. The only credit he can have banked is that we're improved the academy and brought in some quality youth targets, that seems to be continuing. Aside from that the guy was not the dynamic 'guru' he was made out to be.
Obviously, there was friction between the midget and Eddie Howe. Things just didn't seem right. Glad he's packed up his wagon and frigged off to the swamp with those other awful humans.
The board and Eddie Howe are in lockstep, massive respect and absolute faith in both directions.
Steve Nickson and his recruitment team are a quality group, they don't leave a stone unturned.
