Do you remember when we were looking for a new manager after Bruce went? The board were accused of desperation and then when Emery turned us down; panic.
Just look how that turned out?

If you read or hear anyone outside of the Newcastle United boardroom claim they know the financial situation and transfer strategies of the club, take it with a grain of salt.
They do not.
We all have theories and opinions.
Perhaps some journalists have some additional insight (from players, agents, and other ‘insiders’) but, they are not getting any additional information from the Newcastle United owners, than they want to release.
My opinion is just that – an opinion.
However, rather than being based on what a big mouth said online, in the paper, or at the pub, I am basing it on past NUFC club performance.
The latest meltdown by many in the Newcastle United fanbase over the weekend and continuing into the week, may or may not have had merit. The fact is, we do not know. Journalists and podcasters do not know. The Newcastle United owners know. The transfer team knows.
Were the Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) going to be breached without player sales? Maybe.
Was Newcastle United seriously considering selling Isak or Gordon? Unlikely.
Was the club in panic mode? No.
Was Liverpool, Chelsea, or other clubs enquiring about our top players? Yes, as is their right (but it doesn’t mean Newcastle United didn’t give a firm no, or counter with a sky-high price!).
Did Newcastle United get good value for Anderson and Minteh? Yes.
The article goes on to back up his opinion. However, this is pretty much where I stand on things.
The club are not in 'panic mode', the board are people who have decades of experience in wealth management of hundreds of millions of dollars / year of other peoples money. You don't get to do that IF you ever enter 'panic mode'.
It's preposterous that people, Newcastle local journos, podcasters etc are even using such language. This last week really has crystalised my opinions on certain people in the media & the fan based content creators.
They know nothing, they are fed agendas by agents and agent provocateurs from other clubs & hostile media outlets to spin a narrative to wind up the fan base and cause division and anger to those running the club in a hope of derailing the project. Such is the level of jealousy and fear.
"Don't believe the hype" the great lyricists Public Enemy once wrote. A credo we should all live by!

Precisely Topincha!
"CLUB IN MELT DOWN"
"THEY'RE NOT FOOTBALL PEOPLE, THEY DON'T HAVE A CLUE"
We sign Eddie Howe and qualify for the Champions League with half of the Cabbage patch still in squad. People soon forgot about Emery until he rocked up at Villa and had a great season. Emery now faces his 2nd season syndrome and competing in Europe for the first time without Douglas Luis. We'll have to see how they get on.
There will of course be options on the table for every decision, the board as made excellent moves so far.
Peter Silverstone from Arsenal. A man who spearheaded their commercial team. They employ, I think it's around 100 people to manage commercial partnerships. We've got less than 20. It's a massive job to build the club up to the level required to match the established wealthy clubs.
Darren Eales from Atlanta, a man who literally build a club from the ground up, stadium, kit, everything. Exactly what we needed as we essentially started again from scratch post Fatso. Who saw Eales coming in? No one. No one every heard of the guy.
The business of football is so important these days. Getting that up to the standards required patience and serious consideration. It's not an exercise of throwing Shyt at the wall.
I just don't buy all the nonsense that we were £60million over PSR. NO WAY.
Rumours abound, more likely is to be the other number that was doing the rounds of about £25million.
The deals done for Anderson & Minteh were done because the club have a plan where they need to spend BIG this summer.
The board know what we need to really kick on and be a definite competitor for the top 4, I don't doubt we'll be signing the right players/top target in each position to compliment Isak et al.
