Surely England can beat either of these ? The semi final beckons.

My reservations about Southgate's selection is our lack of any threat down the left. As a result, the Swiss knew that each time we played it down the left, it would inevitably be played back/sideways until it landed with Saka who provided our only attacking threat.

Yet again, Southgate was extremely fortunate in that he didn't change his stubborn set up until well after we'd gone behind. Had he made his changes on 60 minutes, when it was obvious that the Swiss were getting on top, we could have gone one up instead of chasing the game yet again.

The further we go in this tournament, the more Southgate will believe that his conservative approach is the correct one and we will be left wondering what might have happened if Gordon and Palmer had started. Admittedly, it may not be as successful, but boy it would have been more exciting finding out.

BTW, I'm delighted we've progressed to the semis!!
I'm assuming you're joking about your health condition given that you saw the game? If not I hope you get a good outcome to all of that and get well soon.

I was having palpitations during the penalties. Thank god the Swiss missed one early, which took the pressure off slightly.

I thought Palmer was outstanding when he came on, he certainly gave them something else to think about. I thought Eze did quite well too. Again, provides something different and the type of player who'll commit a defender. Reminds me of Doku the Man City/Belgium player.

And yes, roll on the semis!

Only joking on the health front! It's only slightly less healthy than watching the Millers!!

What an stunning career trajectory Ivan Toney has made since he faced us in that playoff semi final for S****horpe
Spend most of the game on his backside complaining to the ref

That technique and composure for his penalty success was something else. Well done young man.

120 mins and only one meaningful effort on goal…..when we scored. Like watching paint dry.

Tell a lie, rice made the keeper save one, but it was out anyway according to the bbc.

Agreed. More like watching care home victims' diapers dry... and still this nation supports these feckless, lazy millionaires and the latest clueless yes man manager...
