Spend most of the game on his backside complaining to the ref

That technique and composure for his penalty success was something else. Well done young man.
And didn't one of his spectacular diving acts get Joe Mattock sent off at the NYS?

Be a bonus if Shaw could start. If not a right sided player at left back. Wide left Eze. Arnold in for Folden. Return to a back 4 Mainoo omitted.

Duane Holmes was by far their best player that night and he's now at Preston. Not a career that has nosed dived by any means but, like you say,you wouldn't have thought Toney would end up where he has.

If we can improve again on Wednesday by the same level as we did last night from the previous game then that is how tournaments are won.One stat that I can't be bothered to research is: How many teams in the last 30 odd years have won either a World Cup or a Euros without having to win a penalty shoot out along the way? My instinct tells me not many! It's tournament football, the best team doesn't always win it.The past can always get viewed through rosy specs. What people forget that in Euro 96 we were awful against the Swiss, fortunate against Scotland after McAllister missed a pen, excellent against Holland then got played off the park by Spain who had a legitimate goal ruled out for offside and then beat them on penalties. We started brilliantly against Germany and took the lead, then retreated and allowed them back in and everyone now thinks El Tel was a hero.

As I remember in the play off semi against S****horpe flour was that Woody had Toney in his pocket. UTM

Are we supposed to be playing prime Brazil or Barcelona?
It’s about getting results. We are through to another semi final what’s not to like.
The target is to win it and we’re still in a place to achieve it.
Some deluded fans think it’s only acceptable if we’re going all out attack.
If we win it then it will be deserved.

Not sure fans are wanting us to go all out attack as many, probably like yourself, see that as naive vs the best sides in Europe.
What’s been very, very disappointing prior to the Switzerland game was the misplaced passes, pedestrian sideways passing and almost zero intelligent movement off the ball. This from players who we all know have those skills in their locker.
So the frustration amongst many fans has been the lack of basics

It was better last night and you’re right it’s all about winning from now on.
Here,s to more improvement next Wednesday in preparation for Sunday

Couldn't have summed it up better myself flour, very frustrating how we had been performing up to last night, and whilst last night wasn't brilliant, it was way better than any game we'd played up to then, so yes let the improvement keep on coming. UTM

The team was undoubtedly better v Switzerland but remember that Southgate was forced into making changes. Without that it would have been the same boring safe stuff that Southgate likes
