I know what you mean, but in another post (on a different thread) you mentioned you'd like to see more spent on the playing side, by which I assumed you meant the first team. I guess my point is that the pie (If you'll pardon the pun) is only so big.

With the work to establish better playing facilities such as the new hybrid pitch etc., better stadium experience such as the sound system, new income streams created by the 'Nest' and 'Padel Centre' investments plus the rebuilding of the first team squad it must be tricky to do all of them simultaneously...and all while still running at a considerable loss at our current level.

The Academy is also an expensive thing to run to a worthwhile level. Thank goodness for the current owners apparent acumen. Hopefully they have got it right with the defensive signings to date this close season anyway. We need to go up ASAP to bring more income.

Fingers crossed for all parts of the jigsaw coming together slowly but surely!

Do you actually know how much an Academy is to run and how they are funded? My guess is you haven't got a clue.

Stick to mixing paint it must be an absorbing career you've had. You won't ever know what it is like to play in professional football here or abroad. Keep paying your entrance fee sad man.

I haven't played professional football and have no idea. Would you kindly like to enlighten me and a few hundred others instead of sitting in your ivory tower being unhelpfully critical? Or does that come with the territory of knowing something we don't?

It was dyes rather than paint. Not absorbing, but it paid the mortgage.

Correct, I was nowhere near good enough.

I will always pay my entrance fee, but as a happy rather than sad man.

Out of interest, who will you be supporting when we play the Spireites?

This could be a good quiz question!

First clue is that he has the same initials as me, our hallowed ground, and our recently departed goal machine.

Edit - my real name rather than messageboard name.

I'm afraid I don't have the numbers but I imagine, looking from the outside, that it is a hugely expensive, complex and challenging thing to run.

That's all I can come up with for the minute too.

Doesn't help answer the question though. I know we received some funding now we are back in the EFL and that it's not cheap but that's all.

It will be fully funded by the FL. The club puts very little in, if anything, they never have done
