I wonder what the ref would have thought of Graig Gordon's challenge with Steven Fletcher....possibly prison for the keeper?

I've lived in Somerset for 27 years and I don't hate the English. However, I despise their football team along with rugby, cricket, tiddleywinks etc. I'm dreading this weekend because if they win they will be insufferable. As if they need a trophy win to inflate their superiority complex.
My English wife refuses to watch England games with me as she thinks I'm unfairly bias

    6/4 Spain, 5/2 Ingerland, 9/5 the draw.
    Gives us hope.

I don't hate them either, I just can't stand seeing them win at football (or rugby for that matter). For me, it's the arrogance and entitlement - like the fact that they once won a tournament nearly 60 years ago, they somehow deserve to win every time. There's also an expectation - before a ball is even kicked, they've got their route to the final plotted out. Even more annoying in recent years as they incredibly manage to get themselves in the half of the draw that avoids ALL of the tournament big guns, the favourites, the other teams with a tournament pedigree.

Would I feel so strongly if we'd had a half decent Scotland team over the last 20 or 30 years? We'll never know.

I think it also has something to do with the fact that I was just getting into football around 1987/88. The Euros in Germany was the first tournament I had really watched with interest. At the same time, I was seeing all these news reports about violent clashes and guys being loaded into ambulances with brutal stab wounds, etc. Thought it was a coincidence that it was happening in Germany at the same time as the football, but no - that was the English hooligans. I couldn't understand how that was in any way connected to the football.

With England it’s just one of those strange quirks of our nations set-up! We might be the biggest nation in the world that shares a tv feed with our biggest rival. I’ve no doubt San Marino, Andorra, Monaco, Liechtenstein etc all feed into their neighbouring countries TV broadcasting but I’ve also no doubt these guys support Italy, Spain, France and Switzerland so are happy to watch the coverage of their bigger neighbours!

I’ve not lived in mainland Europe but I’d be shocked if France, Spain, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Croatia etc etc home networks weren’t equally as biased/arrogant as English tv it’s just we don’t have to watch and suffer that!

It’s just a little bit gash that we share a tv network with our biggest sporting rival who are infinitely bigger and better than us! Its like Dundee fans only getting to watch dutv 😄

    My thoughts exactly.
Hate is a strong word often overused.
England have a great squad, most of us watch the English Premier league albeit alot of non English players in it but it's still the English Premier league.
Ehen it comes to national teams we are watching broadcasts predominantly English and it's always been like that.
I've been in france and Italy when tournaments are on and their coverage is every bit as biased towards their own teams as what England's is.
Some on here moaning that in the build up to france v spain there were interviews and talk about england, it's a UK broadcast predominantly English so what do you expect?
If Scotland were in the semi finsl there would of been coverage of us too.
I guarantee you Dutch tv would of been bigging up their national team on tv while covering Spain v France.
Sometimes we just get caught up in it and are often very hypocritical but hey ho let's just get on with it.
Best of luck to both teams Sunday, it should be an open game which will suit the English side but spain have been the best team overall so far.

It goes too far though. I can remember during the World Cup in 2006 - no idea who was playing but it wasn't England and it wasn't even England's group. I got home and switched the TV on and it was a minute to go before half time and it was 2-0. Great, I thought - I'll get to see the goals in a few minutes. NOPE! Straight into talking about England. Then off to the England training camp to hear from the manager and a couple of the players. Ooh!! Guess which England player had his hair cut yesterday? Oooh, let's talk about that for a bit! Oh, the second half has kicked off. Oh, shall we get back to that then?

Gary Lineker is a cock too,I only hate him,Ian Wright and a few others. I've mellowed over the years having lived here so long,my mother was English,my kids are half English so it's kind of difficult to hate them or the whole population. I love Dundee United and there's no other team for me. I was incredibly disappointed with Scotlands performance in the Euros, but I won't lose any sleep if England win it. Hope that helps to clarify my outlook. Just to add more confusion, I've followed the English Cricket team for decades too 🤣🤣
