This is how I see as well. I just don’t see the bros going and spending a few hundred grand on someone that may or may not be better than what we already have. I quite like the idea of any 2 from 3 of McGoldrick, Jatta and Scott (it’s about time we gave him a shot up front). I think we’ll go for a loan for someone with proper pace and movement to complement what we have, that can just go back to their parent club if it doesn’t work out. Macca scored a lot of goals last year but let’s not forget, Notts scored a lot of goals in general! We still have threats. Get JJ tied down to a new contract, get a striker in on loan, another midfielder and a defender or 2. Make a decision on whether Stone is staying as backup or get him replaced and we’re about there. Despite losing Macca, I’m excited about the season ahead. COYP

Weird that we haven't tied Jones down to a longer deal
I can understand why we only gave two years initially but he's been virtually ever present since joining apart from when on International duty

We don't know that we haven't... wasn't Nemane signed, sealed and delivered, but not announced until weeks after the event last season? I was expecting Jones to go before Langstaff, but the lack of rumours may indicate that it's all resolved and we will announce just before the start of the season as we did last season with Nemane?

Jones didn't want to move too far away from his young family in Coventry so I expected his to see out his contract. I fully expect him to move on after this season though.

I could be wrong but I don't see him seeing out his current contract. A player with a history of horrific injuries and a new born I imagine will want security as his past will play on his mind.
I 100% believe the club will have offered him a new contract and now he has a decision to make.

I tend to agree that he will go or stay on a longer contract. There just hasn't been a lot of speculation, so despite my gut feeling that he will go I am beginning to think he is already signed up. It just seems odd that there has been almost no speculation at this stage.

I don’t think we should write off Morias just yet. Don’t know what it is but what little I saw of him I thought he had something. He has the pace and work rate of Macca (probably not the natural goal scoring ability - but how many at this level do?) but when he played I think he linked the play play up better than Macca ever did. His strength in receiving the ball was good and he also has the vision to use the ball well.

Don't know if I'm just having a good day but I’m liking the thought of him and one of either Jatta/Didzy as a traditional front two.

As for the funds from the Macca sale, who could blame the club for putting some or even all of towards payment for the Nest, the premier league standard pitch or the fantastic sound system?!

That goes counter to everything I've seen from the Bros so far. The infrastructure is being put into place to ensure the club is self-sustaining in the long term and I doubt that they will operate that way at the expense of playing performance.

I think all four of Jatta, Scott, McG, and Morias have a role to play up top this season. Jatta is the most obvious spearhead for our attack, and we surely didn't sign him for six figures and jump through all the legal hoops to get him here for him to sit on the bench. McG is getting on and will need to manage his minutes, Scott has never really been given a proper run as a striker, and Morais - well, who knows? But he surely isn't a terrible option to bring off the bench when defenders are tired.

I'd sooner we spent our money tying Jones down to a long contract or bolstering our midfield/defence.
