The poor management is further comprehended by the fact that in a number of the instances he was replaced we instantly played better!

Of course in the long term it could make it worse as well.
Unfortunately I think she would be treated like other women. Maybe not initially by the media, but by a lot of people on social media. I think the media would follow, unless she was doing a fantastic job. At the first poor performance, some of the pundits would turn on her - “she doesn’t know anything about the men’s game, she’s out of her depth etc.”. All the misogyny and lack of respect for women would surface.

No sarcasm was intended (since '59 also) - genuine question which England teams over any sensible period of time pre Southgate did you enjoy watching?

    Apologies for my interpretation.
It's a great pity that Brian Clough never got the opportunity to manage England and that Keegan couldn't stand the heat " in the kitchen."
I wasn't a fan of Sven's style of management and tactics either and he along with El Tel squandered very realistic opportunities by being negative in crucial games.
Graham Taylor did an admirable job andwas unlucky to be sacked through the Koeman decision v The Netherlands.
All in all I suppose Bobby Robson and Glenn Hoddle provided the most enjoyment watching England.

It's not a lot to choose from which is a sad indictment on those running English football.

I don't think Cloughie had the attributes to be other than a successful club manager. Can't go round shouting "You're a bl**y disgrace" to top players as his welcome at Leeds showed. He could however mould unfashionable players into a winning team.

Can't see much hope for the future. I suppose Fat Sam had a 100% record

Yes and Gareth picks the team! If Kane gets picked he plays. He shouldn't have continued to pick him.

This QPR fans sums it up brilliantly for me - key points

-The Tournamne t gave me the right hump, i fell out with so many Engalnd supporters keep slagging him off
    - Maybe in a few years these mugs who dont know a good thing when they see it will realise
-its a result based business - its winning - i dont go to watch a good game of football i go to watch them win
-Support not jusrt when they do well thats easy - supporting your m8 and family is easy when its going well - try doing it when its hard - when its difficult for yourself - support them through the bad time - lets go again - come on boss we believe you - not all this sniping and moaning
    - Nobody deserves anything in life -
    - Its about bringing people together- we supported Engalnd and Southgate from the beginning - my family, my friends coming together for every match - barbeques / parties we were all together - had some fantastic nights and memories thats what it is about - Southgate gave that to us - not just a football match-
    - we were gutted we lost in the end- but no one else has ever done it in my life time

For me personally i cant stand neagative people, the type that moan about everything, they are energy vampires that just suck the life and energy out of everybody they meet
As i said they are the reason Engalnd never wins, they should have been all behind Southgate enjoying the journey as my friends and family did -we believed we could win and were very very close , with the whole support that could have pushed us over the line - shame on you - AND THANKS GARETH you gave us so many special nights that many in our generation have never had

See you all next month for the start of the next season

Couldn’t agree more. He played the 2 lads at the back in different games instead of the injured McGuire and they both played well, so it’s not incomprehensible a fit Toney or Watkins couldn’t do the exactly the same from the of start of games, feels like he only trusted Kane and it was misplaced as he was nowhere near match fit/sharp.

You can't stand negative people, yet all you did was cry about Ardley being the worst manager.
We never win owt cos of the fans? Do they pick the team decide tactics?
Funny how a lot of ex pros not just English have called out about Gareth being boring negative, but they must be wrong.
Think you need to get out from up Gareths arse.
Yep stats say he has done well in his 8yrs but what's he won? What will he be remembered for In a few years?ExEngland Manager, that's it. We all know following Notts, stats mean sfa
