I was going on 6 when we won it in 1966 and have no recollection at all of the events. It's quite strange as I've mentioned on here before I have vivid memories of the Aberfan Disaster that happened just 83 days after we'd lifted the trophy.

No
With the top premiership sides playing mostly foreigners how are we going win anything! Euros squad showed that not enough players good enough coming through.
We’ve had the players to win something for years now, but every knockout tournament involves at least one lucky break along the way to win it.
In some folks eyes Southgate did a good job but at best he came second, effectively a loser
But can we win a major? Yes definitely, of course we can
Jesus christ.
What do you think the likes of Palmer, Gordon and Branthwaite were doing last year? Winning the U21 tournament that's what. What about Madueke and Colwill, the two young lads at Chelsea who were also part of that squad? What about Mainoo, Saka and Bellingham who are all under the age of 22? We've got an absolute boat load of young talent coming through, even at U17 level. Ever heard of Ethan Nwaneri? No I didn't think so.
And how many players do you think Real Madrid and Barcelona supplied to the Spanish 26? The answer is 6 because top Spanish clubs are also full of foreign players, just like ours. It didn't stop Spain winning the Euros did it.
Instead of trotting out age-old sound bites and fake nonsense about foreigners ruining England's chances, engage your brain.

Was 8 in 1966.
Can I remember it or have I seen countless replays and films to make me think I do. Who knows ?
Me and a mate have had a similar conversation as to whether we'll see a win.
World Cup in 2026 then next Euro's in 2028 puts me at 70 so maybe one more chance after that .................
My Arthritis was quite bad when I got up this morning, but after reading this I feel like a ****ager again,I was 1 in `66 !
I was 14 and watched the last big one in Germany with my cousins. I still have the boasting rights with them and am totally optimistic we will do it again once more in my lifetime.
