Whilst no criminal acts were committed in this instance a club , such as manu ,may not accept unsavoury incidents that bring their name and more importantly to them ,their brand into disrepute
This will be in each players contract. There was a lot of negative press over this that could have put off sponsors.
The sponsors may have put pressure on the club to act.
