Sounds pretty advanced. People are getting messages from their banks saying a payment has not gone out to 02, Virgin, EE etc. As soon as you click on the link your money goes. The scammers already have your details
ibs, you say 'getting messages' , is this on a mobile phone or via email?

If it's a message on your phone, use your discretion, it's got to be a scam as banks/building society's don't send messages to customers about their accounts/payments via mobiles.

Fact: Your bank/building Society will NEVER CALL you personally about your account(s). If you receive a call questioning your account, hang up or tell them to hold on and stick your phone by your radio then leave it a few minutes.......they don't like that! Once they've gone call your bank and explain what's happened.

I'm not aware of any bank/building society sending out emails about accounts. If you receive one from what looks like your particular bank/building society about your account, call them to make sure it's legitimate if you are unsure. There are still several ID checks you have to go through for them to verify everything.

    .
Yes that can be good sport.
I got a crank call last week from London number ie Mumbai or Delhi.
Every time he spoke I just interrupted him by saying yes I can hear you, are you ok, nice to speak to you.
To be fair to his resilience he did persist for about two minutes then he got all flustered and hung up.
Still feel bad about ruining his moment though

I love the loft installation or solar panel calls as I live in a first floor flat in a 3 storey block. No roof!!!! Ah such fun.

I live in a village with no gas, when they were giving out grants for new gas boilers I once kept a guy going for 67 minutes telling him I would love a new gas boiler etc He tried to close me half a dozen times before he finally asked me what the barrier to signing up was. I would love to have seen his face when he realised there was no gas in the village.
