Indeed. No matter what one’s subsequent tastes, ‘Reach Out I’ll be There’ is just one of those songs that evokes childhood memories…even though we were both only, I think, about 12.

P.S. Just watched an old Ed Sullivan recording of them. Think it’s where Sunak got his trouser length fashion sense from.

Absolutely, Andy. Ian is, indeed, very much a Marmite figure. There's good and bad in us all. Some only see the one or the other. He does have what some see as his "warts" but he has also done a lot for the NS scene. Definitely Marmite.
