Yes but the problem is that non of us know how close we are to breaking FFP.

It’s not just a transfer fee that we might pay, it’s the players wages and all the add on bits that create the total financial package spent that counts to FFP.

Even though £2m won’t seem like much for Yok it does mean that with his wages added (£29k a week) you’re talking about a £3.5m contribution towards our FFP.

We paid nothing for him so the £2m fee is a sizeable gain.

I hope we can keep him if we can’t bring anyone else in but the finances are the priority as we can’t bust the FFP limit.

What’s more is that we can spread payments for new players over 5 years. So if we’re financially better off next year, making pure profit now of say £2m could help us spend up to £10m and have the same level of loss this season.

This is what nearly all clubs are doing now, so academy players and those we got on free/cheap are the ones we really need to sell.

Blues are getting round FFP by sponsoring the ground for a massive amount of money, which would be an option for us, our problem is the next set of accounts will be worse and to enable us to bring in players we need to to sell either Yok or Swift or to get pure profit either Fellows or Palmer.

The squad won’t be weaker this season with wheelings and dealings. I am sure anyone who leaves will be replaced by like for like. Losing key players like Okay will mean a like for like replacement. Contrary to absolute bollox his legs are going he played almost every game and he looked good in the euros. Like for like is not duffers who were on decent money like Reach and Chalobah who Carlos
F ucked off! That’s the point and probably why Carlos has not left Okay leave yet! Players like Asante and Grady if they left for a decent fee wouldn’t be the end of the world as we have players just as good. Take Palmer and Fellows if we got a good fee then it’s understandable but Griffiths and Wallace are not in the same league!

Carlos has ambition and in demand and certainly wouldn’t hang around if the squad was going to be weaker. Different yes but his differentiation! Loyalty sadly does not pay a persons bills and ambition in life!

Carlos has stayed in my view as he honestly expects the squad to challenge and be more his mould!

That’s true Mick. We don’t know what is included in the clubs decision making. I think Shilen will be conscious of getting us clear of trouble and then a structured long term plan.

Carlos is a sensible and bright manager. Loyalty does not enhance a reputation or pay the bills. Carlos will have walked if he thought the squad would be weaker. It won’t as he will make sure and have more of his stamp on it! Okay must likely not left as Carlos wants a like for like replacement first.

Keep the faith in Carlos as he’s in demand and won’t stick around unless he thinks we can challenge. That’s for sure!
