Midfield is the issue for us with Docherty not fit and Odada not upto speed while they have plenty legs with Mulligan, Sylla and McCowan presuming they go with what they did v Inverness

A few weeks down the line with Docherty and Odada both available then it would be a different story for us
Point of order, the League Cup first round is not pre-season.

Their cocky confidence is based on us being the same side as last season which as everyone can see (except them) we have strengthened considerably. Agree with Shedka about our midfield, could have done with 2 weeks more for Docherty and Odada, but Svelje Sibbald and Babunski would be just fine. It's swings and roundabouts as they're still in recruitment too.

I would not bite your hand off for a point. If that's how it ends fair enough. But I think we could edge this.
They are saying they are miles ahead of us , we shall see.
Ridiculously weak league cup group and woeful league form for the 3rd of last season.
They havnt been tested yet where in comparison we have had very difficult games at falkirk [tough away game for most outwith the old firm] and at home to Ayr [ very well organised under brown with some new signings] plus we played a Ridiculously strong Luton team and despite being dominated for long spells we always looked dangerous.
By all accounts they have also made a complete james hunt of selling the paper tickets for the Derby which they insisted on, 6 days to go and people whoʻ have paid don't have the tickets, apparently they may have sold some twice FFS

    DEFO This^^^^^^

Plenty changes for both teams. Home advantage, etc etc.... No way, anyone can predict this match.

Hoodoo , Voodoo ? I don't care. REALLY looking forward to this match.

Would have preferred a better kick off time, especially on a bloody Sunday (no that ane)

I'm gonna have a guess at 2-1 us, they score first. (hopefully chapped aff) like before. Hilarious.

It said "…during pre season or the (albeit weak) group" - I take that to mean whatever pre-season friendlies they played plus the League Cup group matches. I don't think they are suggesting that the League Cup group is pre-season.

Wee bit of Fun money, 19/10.
    We've lengthened slightly, 5/4.
    Draw still 13/5.

Just seen 2 Dees in my office. They think they will too much to handle up front and will run rings around our midfield. Said this is the first time they can remember being so confident going into a Derby. Perhaps too confident.

I pointed out Doc is likely not to start and some of our new signings might surprise them.

I think it will be a case of who adapts best to the Derby environment and wants to win it most, generally do.

Hopefully having a home crowd will help get us over the line.

I don't see us keeping a clean sheet so I think it will come down to who scores more. Not confident in this 3 at the back at all yet but happy that we have some better options in the final third.

That's fair. I'm sure it own management team do treat it like that though. 😢

In our 12 derby games unbeaten at Tannadice, we've only kept 4 cleansheets but haven't failed to score in our last 16 home derbies going back to Aug 2002

Including dens we've only failed to score in one of our last 23 derbies, 0-0 in Feb 2022 where Clark missed the last minute sitter from 6 yards
