I reckon you got a superb view of THAT hit on Fev's Springer in the opening set for Fev , you could hear the impact on the West Terrace , ouch !!! .

Springer didn't seem to do too much after that for some reason !!! .

    Onwards and upwards .
Hood played well Animal but like Bowden did not play the full 80mins, the others I mentioned did.

Agree Animal. I may be wrong but think he has only missed 1 or 2 games all season.

Pratt, Scott and Hall competing for the 2 starting centre spots next season.

I'm not sure what your saying there Chop kid, lol.
Btw, we/Hull played well last week away in France, at Catalans.
And my argument here is why the hell have we got French teams, in our R.L British League. 😟

Chop Kid to Acido Old Man lol, who cannot remember what he said in June. Just to remind you Sir.

It's still becoming an almost elitist 'closed shop' though isn't it, Animal ?. Where only two teams are favourite to win things, at the start of every season.

Which is why I hope Warrington can add a fifth name to the Super League Grand Final roll of honour Chop .

Which leads to me to ourselves over the next three to five years also adding our name to the title .

It's pretty thin gruel this side of the Pennines since the demise of the Bradford Bulls and the Whinos also having a long lean spell .

One thing both myself and the wife have noticed this season ( all though she's new to the game this season ) stood on the West Terrace with the away fans is just how much we have suddenly become very disliked .

I take the point the Fev game is a proper derby game but the vitriol towards us from the Fev fan's was pretty hostile to say the least in Rugby League terms of course .

I said to the wife we haven't seen owt yet , wait whilst we are back in Super League and beating Wigan , Saints , Warrington and Leeds regularly .

They aren't going to like it one bit that Trinity are the new threat to their closed shop .

    I can hardly wait .

Wow, Hull Kingston go top of the league, its hard to believe, but they do deserve credit. 👍
Warrington meanwhile have bottled it many times in recent seasons, and they might be doing it again.

    Betfred Championship Round 18

Dewsbury Rams 16 Wakefield Trinity 42

It was a first ever visit to the Flair Stadium this afternoon for myself and it was definitely the wife's first visit , I'd visited the old ground Crown Flatt over 40 years ago , it was actually Trinity's first ever game in the second tier .

I've said a number of times that I don't know how club's such as Dewsbury survive , they would have welcomed Trinity's visit today with open arms given we outnumbered the Dewsbury faithful by about 5 to 1 and it's unlikely they'll ever get a bigger home crowd for a good number of years if at all .

However there were groans at the turnstiles from the Trinity fans when we discovered it was £20 entry , a bit naughty that from the Dewsbury club and in Rugby League we don't much care for exploiting the fans and we really don't like getting exploited ourselves either because we are Trinity and travel well .

I normally pop a few quid in halftime draw tickets for the championship club's we've visited this season and help them along .

    Not today .

    Betfred Championship Round 19

    Wakefield Trinity 42 - 6 Sheffield Eagles

Best performance since we beat the Sheffield Eagles at Wembley in the 1895 Cup in early June .

Given the injuries we are having to manage most weeks , we've five forwards currently on the treatment table plus Half Mason Lino we've still managed to attain a 9 point lead at the top of the Championship .

Whilst injuries are part and parcel of Rugby League and have to be accepted given the physicality of the game it's to the credit of the Trinity squad that we've only lost the one game so far .

Now you might think that given Trinity's status at this level , we are the biggest club , have the biggest fan base , have the most money and probably have the best HC that it's easy to negotiate when we a huge number of injuries , it isn't .

It isn't because Trinity are currently in a very unique position , probably one that hasn't ever occurred in the modern era .

It's actually incredibly difficult for the club to recruit players to cover our injuries this season , it's difficult because the market is so small for us to attract players this season knowing that in probability we will be back in Super League next season .

Players capable of playing Super League won't drop down to the championship whilst still under contract at Super League club's .

Players in the championship given Trinity's ambitions for Super League are going to have to be incredibly good for us to pay a fee when given the end of the season we can recruit them as free agents .

It's sensible to manage this season with what we have and any recruitment that is done is for Super League next season which we are already underway with .

It's also sensible to manage our finances , we may well now have the financial resources to compete very well in Super League but that doesn't mean we should waste money either .

All the focus is now geared towards managing what we have towards hopefully that Championship Grand Final in October .

Managed to get to the Dewsbury game last week to see a good performance and 2 points.

Missed last night's game at Belle Vue due to all my kids coming over - well the ones I know about haha!

Sounds like an impressive performance Animal and for sure Sheffield will be glad they do not have to play us again this season.

Manged to keep up to date with the score on Trinity X whilst watching my beloved Barnsley lose.

Looking forward to being back at Belle Vue next Sunday, hopefully no new injuries after last night's game and a good chance of 2 big lads in Atoni and Bowden being fit to return to the matchday team.
