My view it’s either gonna be a car crash or it’s going to be a great season, just a hunch.
I agree. Seems like a nice bloke, and I'd love for it to work out for him (and us). It's all a bit of an unknown, but I think us fans would be best taking this season as a clean slate and shaking off the hangover of last season when judging him. My fear is fans will jump on his the moment something doesn't go our way, like conceding the first goal away at Tranmere.

It’s the first episode I’ve watched for a while, thought Maynard came across well, seems a nice chap but we said that about Ardley. I’ll admit I’m not a fan of his as a manager of NCFC but giving him the summer and new players brought in I’ll give him a chance. Am I confident in him, absolutely not, previous form leads to a lack of confidence, the issue he will have is he has no goodwill with supporters, there has been no great form under him or reason to be inspired with him and despite a lot of people prepared to give him chance an opening poor 3-4 games with poor results and the heat will be on him. I want him to do well as that means Notts are doing well, realistically I’m very concerned and can’t see this going well, 10 league games is too long if that’s the case for me, no more than 6 but for my love of Notts I hope Maynard is the man.

I don’t think we should judge SM on last years performances. In truth, it was an incredibly tough job to come into. We weren’t a team struggling (away form had admittedly dropped off). We had a manager loved by the players and fans and honestly I genuinely feel some of the players were LW’s boys who threw their toys out the pram when he left. The bros are currently selling him a little short with attacking options. If we can bring someone in to compete at the top of of the pitch then yes it’s fair to say if we’re bottom half after 10-12 games, then he’s under performing. Comes across as a bit of a wet noodle in interviews but I couldn’t care less about that of the results are good.

Mace can't stand us 'social media numpties' with all our opinions. We've never played the game so should STFU.

Did you know he was good mates with Graham Taylor though? Zzzz

Never understand why he gets so worked up on every video about social media numpties. Is he not just one himself?

I can't warm to him at all. I'm not sure what his company was all about but he clearly has some pull with the club and Stallard (weirdly). I find his interview style quite self indulgent, braggy and painful at times. It's also not a great idea to bash social media users when they are your audience!

Still, he must be okay as a person as i trust Stall's judgement.

Can't say we learned much from that interview though.

I didn't mind his podcast at first, but the more you watch it the more he comes across as a bit of a narcissist. There was 1 show where he was ripping into Hardy for sacking Nolan. The irony of that being Mace was a director at the time, and it was 'unanimously'agreed that Nolan should go at a board meeting. Funny how he left that part out isn't it...

Mace never played it either so maybe he should stop his podcast.

Also the line of not playing is ridiculous look at the list of pundits who all played at a high level and most of them are boring, thick, biased and can’t articulate themselves…..when BBC/Sky whoever get a manager in like Howe, Klopp, Mourinho to do abit of punditry they excel.

Mourinho/Wenger/Benitez never played to a high standard either.

Maces comes over as very self important and borderline arrogant at times.

I like Mace and appreciate what he does, but I don't think he does himself any favours in basically dismissing those who post anywhere other than on his live youtube feed (which apparently doesn't count as social media) as idiots. It's probably in response to a lot of the over the top an unfair bile directed at him personally but it can't be helping him build more of an audience.

Much as I enjoy watching the Magpie Circle I do find it amusingly ironic that he criticises social media numpties on his very own social media video channel.
