Five trialists starting with another one on the bench. Need to hope at least a couple of these cut the mustard or it's gonna be a right old trolley dash next week.

To play devil’s advocate; what if, of the 6 trialists, say between 2-4 of them have been on trial with us for a decent percentage of PS (seems to have been trialists every game) and we then go onto to sign them this week. Would you make the argument that that is overall sensible recruitment, rather than steaming into signing players wary doors and them not being the right fit?

Also, I don’t feel Jack Sanderson can be used in a ‘first teamed’ stat at this point in time.

Feel free to play devil's advocate but traillists rarely work out, they are traillists without a club with 1 week before season starts for a reason. Our strike force is a 37 year old, an untested coming back from long injury player and a not sure if he can cut 90 mins that's it! Plus weaker midfield. It's only goalie defence that are better.

You shouldn't have 6 trialists playing a week before the season starts. We're desperate for numbers. What has our head of recruitment been doing since Xmas. We knew the problems with the team squad before then. He also knew Langstaff's departure was possible so should have been scouring everywhere for an immediate replacement. Some clubs would have signed someone straight away & I mean within hours to soften the blow
