I think it said enough when the fun celebrated yet another 2-2 victory at the end of that!

But I cannot help but feel we shot ourselves in the foot with their lad getting back to clear the ball off the line and sitting too far back all game.

The players we have signed i hope bed in and improve that wee bit more as Ferry, Babunski, Trapanovski and Van Der Sande had very good games with Thomson, Graham, Holt and Gallagher all showing they should be good enough for whats ahead.

JG can stay for a wee while longer!

We played really well first half because our two wide players were tucking in to protect the midfield 2 and it gave us enough control to be really dangerous.
But second half that didn't work maybe due to tiredness or concentration and they started to get control.
I still think a 2 in midfield isn't enough if we're having to rely on wide players who aren't midfielders.

On reflection if Trapanovski buries that chance at 2-1 didn't think they would have come back but it is what it is.

A point keeps us in contention for Europe 😄

I thought it was great game , you guys should’ve been out of sight at half time , your wingers were getting the better of our new wing backs every time and creating loads of chances , once our manager eventually changed our back line by moving McGhee out to the right and brought on Mulligan to help Sylla brake up play we looked the more dangerous, a point in the end a fair result on to the new year derby , your team look’s streets ahead of that team you had last season , enjoy your season you’ll do well

At the point of the penalty Utd should have been 3 or 4-1 up with the chances we had

Trapanowski should really have rounded the keeper and that was the game for us

After 2-2 there is no doubt the fun had the better chances towards the end but we still had that chance from Odada, very poor effort with the cross to win it at the death

Mixed feelings, certainly the least we deserved was a point whereas the fun could have no complaints had they lost

Plenty positives for us, the goals we did score were top notch play, can see we've signed well and will only get better with match sharpness, the new boys handled the occasion and style of football well, so miss to be optimistic about and it's a point on the board

7 derbies now without defeat, 20 years you've no won here for the fun and derby victory 50 still eludes them, it was quite amusing to see them delighted with a draw at tannadice given all the talk pre match

So in summary, should have won but take the point and move on

Plenty of positives to take from that, it's clear we are still short in some areas and some guys are still getting up to speed, but there are some good footballers in the that team. The defence lost two bad goals though.

They had a just over 20% chance of ending 20 years of abject misery and really on their 1st half showing that was very generous. The main thing i will take from the game was the difference in quality between the teams in the final third, sublime passing and movement from The Championship side and sheer guts and hard work from the Top Sixers.

Anyone with no knowledge of football watching that today would be thinking the wrong team got clapped onto the pitch for winning the 2nd division.
