I wouldn't worry. Like someone else said he's had one good season. We were in for him apparently but that all fell through when he started demanding 1st team football. So we told him to go fourth and multiply politely, apparently.

I don't think any of us, you, or Stags could guarantee him a regular starting place. Stags seems to have tons of strikers as it is - Nichols, Gregory, Akins, Oates, Swann, Bowery, plus a youngster or two.

On a Stags/Notts-related note, I see Jimmy Knowles signed for Accy. Call me crazy, but I'd have been OK with him returning to Notts as a squad player. Always seems to score goals and still only 22. We don't need a marquee signing, just someone half decent as backup to Jatta if gets injured.

I’m really not fussed about Swann. Never really rated him at Mansfield and they would want a fee which I’d rather we not give them. Pretty sure the 10 will be McGoldrick, Scott maybe Austin or JJ if needs be with Jatta leading the line. I’d rather we got a pacey no9 who can press from the front. The young lad from Derby wouldn’t be a bad shout til Jan but knowing Notts it’ll likely be someone we didn’t see coming. I’m 95# certain at least one attacking player will join before the end of the month. The midfield concerns me slightly. In like the sound of Crowley and Robertson ahead of Palmer but we just don’t know what Palmer we’ll be getting back. Then it’s a question of are Edwards and Hinchy good enough to come in.
