Last time he was here Evans brought us Lee Frecklington.
He desperately needs to find a similar player this time because, as you say, there is absolutely no drive from midfield in the current squad.

The game is about pace, but there were stats last year about our build-up play being the slowest in our division. Pacey players are nice to have, the ability to play at pace, and pass effectively is far more useful. I'd take a midfielder who can control the game by passing over a runner who will offer a threat but is unable to control the game.

We have never replaced Frecklington mellow.
I agree with you we are crying out for someone to get the game with the scruff of the neck and drive us forward.
Wiles did it to a degree and at times was effective.

Powell came on at Exeter doesn't look like he'll go past opposition players. SE worries me said we could have done with Liam's control meaning Kelly. We need now a Rathbone type midfielder who'll get us forward there.

All we did Saturday at Exeter City was hoof-ball, with Hugill keeping the mole-hills down with his ar*e.
Don't know about shin-pads, Hugill ought to have ar*e pads.

Agree Eric and what was worse JCH seemed to start copying him! Can't remember hugill winning one ball in the air. We will achieve nowt with hugill up front this year. Stevie needs to tell the forwards to stay on their feet and not on their ar ses.

Anyway why play for free kicks? No bug ger can find any of our players with one. The dead ball stuff was atrocious on Saturday.

Both Hughill and JCH would thrive on crosses. The solution is there. 442 with Hungbo and Holmes (soon to be Wilks) on the flanks. Powell can then sit alongside Oddofin in the middle.
