    Loan signings

I’m quite happy with this now, (maybe because we have no option) but also because there’s no way we could have afforded Dobbin who Villa just paid £19 million for. In many ways it gives us better options. We live in a country that makes owning your own property a big thing yet I’ve been renting all my life and now live in a place I would have had to be a millionaire to own. Renting better quality players makes perfect sense.

I hope there are more loan signings before the close of business. Squad is still very small and no room for injuries at the moment. Maja started well but hoping for consistency and regular scoring. Too many times last season we have a player hit form for maybe two or three games then disappear for weeks. But we need a forward for sure and at least three others around the squad. Weissman would have been a good keep.

I agree to a large extent, the only problem is lack of continuity and having loads of gaps to fill the following season.

    Harvey Barnes for example.

I didn’t realise it was that many Dubs as it doesn’t show that info when you access off your phone like I do.

This is over a long period though, I think I first posted in 2007.

My first ever post was a response to a then very active Dingle poster called BroadLane Wolf, I suggested his time was better spent sleeping with his mother and sister!

Needless to say, I made an immediate impact.

The tenor of my posts has not risen too much higher than that low watermark in the proceeding years.

I did once try to work out how much time I’d spent writing posts on here but that was a depressing figure a long time ago so I won’t bother at this stage!

    Anyway, it’s time to wipe my a r s e!

    Toodle pip.

And then there's the size of the loan fee involved. We've cut back on the wage bill but clearly that doesn't mean all those funds suddenly become available for transfers, loan fees and wages moving forward given the implications of our previously poor financial governance.

Sheff united have signed a Palace player on loan , we were interested , Palace wanted £1m loan fee plus .£1.5m if we won promotion. plus full wages paid .
Over the last 2 seasons all the promoted clubs, had these exspensive loans .

Well boingy buddy, I consider that all the players ‘in’ appear to be much better than I was expecting - given our financial situation and inevitable restrictions.

Clearly, time will tell on the pedigree of the ‘newbies’ (I include Academy in this category) Essentially I am as satisfied as may be expected.

It’s amazing what one starting decent performance does to us fickle loyalists !

There is that. I suppose though from our standpoint if good loan signings can get us in the Prem and a big cash injection it would be good for the club even if we came back down the following season.
