I think most fans would be ok with us walking away from their valuation. Especially given they want it up front. Fingers crossed Schar stays healthy.

NOT impressed by our people on this one.
Waste of time, as they are pros and should have sniffed this outcome 2 weeks ago.
We have to remember the situation we are in with the rest of the clubs in the league. They all hate us. Parish & his gimp Dougie Freedman have ties to the fraudies and love their place at the feet of Man U, lapping up the scraps from the top table with a 'thank you sir'.
What better way to obstruct Newcastle's progression than to mess them around for weeks at the end of a transfer window.
Ornstein, Romano and all the other Journos with a clue have been clear that both sides want this deal done. So, acting in good faith to sign a player requires reciprocation from the selling club.
Not selling the player is great for Palace. Gives them some press coverage, Parish loves the spotlight and will enjoy being able to make things awkward and please his masters at Old Trafford.

At the end of the interview it's clear he avoids the question and his body language shifts. He starts to look around, at the floor and past the reporter.
All signs that that which he is saying he has no confidence in.
My understanding is that they are desperate to sell this summer.
If not, next summer he’ll have 1 year left on the contract. Will he perform up to his price tag too? I’d say, if not the Euros, his price would be 20-30% less.
So, this tosser’s interview is basically him saying “come get him, please”
I think it raises questions about Mitchell.
To much of this in the press, and that is because we went in stupidly low… so when we start having to come back multiple times then Palace are gonna think that they can say no and we’ll come back with more.
Guehi was never gonna go cheap or easy after a good Euro’s… I’d be happy to have him here, but to spend a lot of time before hand on him then to go back and forth for days, and likely end up walking away… what a waste of time.
We’ll see what happens, but it’s looking like a bad start for our new DoF.
Interestingly and this may be just me - but this interveiw actually made me more confident this will happen.
Guehi's camp have told the club he wants the move (allegedly).
Guehi has 2 years left - if they want the most money, it has to be now.
This feels like a last gasp attempt to get more money which he know may not happen.
I also think the fact we've not comentated means we're still very much at the table.
I reckon we might come back in with one more deal, maybe structured slightly different.
I also personally think he's worth going back for, I don't think he's a "generational talent" but I do think he improvements most defences in top 6 clubs.
Chelsea get 10 mill of any fee paid for him so they won't bid, Man U have spent their pot on Yoro, Arsenal got the Italian lad, City don't need him. I can see no ther club who would take him, maybe the dippers.
I've seen a lot of backlash to the "generational talent" tag that they've put on him but I think he was Englands most consistent performer in the Euros. Considering Bellingham and Kane were in that team, not too bad. I also think our main weakness last year was in defense, not attack. So, could very well be worth paying for. My fear is it puts us off gooing for a winger.
