Might help if we showed some sort of urgency, speeding up from walking football would help, really poor from a number of Albion players, so far only Mc Nair, Whitwell, Heard and Faal look anywhere near the first team squad

Why do foreign managers dismiss any cup competitions these days and play weakened sides. I can understand a few changes but 11 is a joke especially as not one first teamer was on the bench. Total disrespect for any travelling fans.

I understand both sides of the argument. On the one hand, we need our best side for Saturday, on the other, why play a complete reserve side? I don’t even think that we had a first team player on the bench. It all boils down to priorities I suppose. If we beat Leeds on Saturday, we’ll probably say it was worth it.

I watched the match at the pub in Harrogate with BaggieAl.

A very enjoyable night out and in fairness we kept the ball quite well and moved it through the pitch well but we were woeful up front and Cleary didn’t get enough game time.

The new Italian was appalling as was that Diakite.

    Cole was anonymous.

The defending for both goals was pitiful.

Our youngsters are technically good though.

Of all the players on the pitch tonight, I think that only Whitwell and possibly Heard may be knocking on the door for a first team game over the next few months.

It's a shame, but understandable, that such cup games are not given the focus by many teams as they once were. For teams like ourselves though, who have a slim squad that need to avoid injuries to key players and concentrate on the league, it's small wonder we don't put out our best side. On the other hand, this situation does provide an opportunity to give game time to our youngsters and fringe players whilst lower league clubs get the opportunity to progress a bit further in the cup and earn a little more needed revenue.

Good to know the youngsters are doing ok Mick. Diakite has been pretty poor so far, gives the ball away all the time. Hope he improves.

Agreed. We’re never going to win either competition so why risk injuries to a small squad? Not a time for romance.

I thought that the performance was disgraceful. On the evidence of that match, some of those players are not fit to wear the shirt.
