It's absolutely pi$$ing down here in Bolton so I thought I'd have a gander at Mission to Burnley (Part 2).

My immediate conclusion is Alan Pace is a really nice, well meaning sort of guy with a girlish giggle and Der Kaiser suffers from a bad dose of Tourette Syndrome.

His by now well documented potty-mouthed tirade at JBG was astonishing and quite alarming. His teammates were putting an arm around the Icelandic team captain and were clearly unimpressed with the now Bayern Munich manager's rantings.

I was quite unimpressed also BT.VK had clearly lost the plot by this time in my opinion and was just taking out his frustration on JBG.

I’ve watched some of the player interviews on Clarets+ To a man they have commented on positive changes with the new management. Cardy has brought some players back in from the cold, like Robert’s, and would seem to have given them more licence to play within their abilities.

Even Weghorst was back with a smile on his face.

VK did us proud in the first season. However, I think he upset some of the players and if the JBG incident is anything to go by, his man - management skills could not cope with the frustration of the PL.

In Mission to Burnley there is a very telling scene where Foster is berating the team for having no spirit. Spineless. Corkie has a go back at him but so many commented on here that the performances lacked spirit and were spineless. It is not really the job of a forward to lift the team. That was VK’s role!

I agree entirely with BT. Mr Pace is a really nice person - but don’t be fooled, he is not a *****cat. He does have a ruthless side to him, I am told, that has not been seen on either series of MoB.

I was more than unimpressed by Kompany's outburst. As a manager if you have something like that to say to a player it should be in private. It seemed like Kompany's ego is such that he wants the world to know he is in charge, if that was the case Burnley FC is well shut of him.

It only showed that his management style was one of bullying, doubt he would have spoken to someone like Vinny Jones like that.

I agree VC. Early days but I think we will play better under Cardy Parker who appears to have a more open approach to how we should play. Early days but it was good to see us mixing it up at Luton with possession football at times, long ball at times, quick forward movement, kicking into Row Z when necessary.

It will be interesting to see how VK copes with the inevitable egos at BM.

Dyche would never criticise a player in public, the dressing room was like a priest's confessional. Parker seems more like Eddie Howe, using the carrot rather than the stick and being a good man manager. I'd say our Sean was somewhere between VK and Cardy. It will be interesting to see how we progress under Cardy compared to both Sd and VK, but in the Prem, the Championship doesn't count.

Chris I’m reliably informed Dyche shouted and slagged of Bamford and made him cry - about his silver spoon up bringing ( didn’t play for us again ).

Who knows what really happened with JBG before and after that outburst - I’ve said before for all his anger and shouting he still picked him - when in most cases I would t have.

If he had Sinkov, I think VJ would have put the squeeze on him. similar to what he did to Gazza.

Pace showed lack of football knowledge and leadership for not sacking Kompany after the Bournemouth away game. It was then obvious that Kompany was out of his depth and the season was a run away car crash.

With a different more pragmatic manager at the helm I honestly believe we could have turned the season around.

No promoted side has ever had a better opportunity of premier league survival than last season, but unfortunately for us we had a buffoon at the helm supported by his duck head chairman
