Sad to say but every sale inflates the cost of any potential replacement , and depletion of the skill pool makes the club less attractive to a potential loanee.
Two unplanned departures don't count as a strategy, and undermine SMs position
    Hope it doesn't happen.

I think Nemane was different, I don’t think he would have played all season if I’m honest, not saying Gordon will be first choice but Nemanes defensive frailties caused us issues.
So if the club is telling the truth about Grant as he was a player we were tracking and interested in already then the deal starts to make sense.

I’m certainly not backing losing Crowley at this stage of the window, it’s wouldn’t be an absolute disaster but one hell of loss to say the least as he’s in the Palmer territory of extremely hard to replace at this level.

IMO one of the issues with selling your best players is that with Macca gone and if Crowley goes then the other better players ie JJ & maybe Palmer (when fit) are more likely to leave as they know the club are not going to be as successful and so will look elsewhere.

Why would we replace players with a loanee? There is no value in that

But with Nemane going we need to now replace a LWB don't we because Chicksen wasn't the best in the national league so we need another wing back

Not for me no. Jones, Gordon, Austin right side options. Jones, Tsaroulla, Chicksen left side options. Bedeau is pretty handy at LWB as we saw at Tranmere when Chicksen went off too. That's where i think the recruitment has been good. Our defenders are pretty versatile. Where you're spot on is the forward area, i'd like to see another added there. The only thing i can think of is we play 1 striker, and have 3 at the club so maybe they're content.

You can be proactive as the club has been on many occasion. I will give you an example. They paid an undisclosed rumoured to be £125-150K for Jatta before they sold Langstaff for a rumoured £750-800K who the fans and the club knew due to his goal scoring exploits would always be sold at some point. Does it not count if it’s proactive? Does it always have to follow?
As for Nemane I suspect the club were happily caught on the hop and didn’t expect to be offered money for a player in August. Did you? Plus It only happened a week ago! We should not be moaning too much when you get a fee for a player like Nemane, who I believe cost nothing.

Rumours of interest and actual bids are always going to provoke a reaction but there is soooo much misinformation and guessing going on. None of us know.

Crowley was a direct replacement for Rodrigues both very impressive recruits for us. If he is as good as everybody says I don’t want to replace Crowley in August I want to see him play. But money talks and you can’t lose every star player to a free.
