not a betting man, but that sounds like a cert!

A couple of posters have said they're waiting for 10 games to really see. I'd kind of agree with that for enough reality to judge and trend, but I'm also looking for SM's Notts to become clear, and hope we'll have a much better idea of that after our first home game.

That’s the thing though the so called apologists aren’t waxing lyrical about the signings or spouting about promotion but can understand most the transfer business and also would prefer to have all the signings in now but accept it’s reality. There’s very few clubs whos transfer business is done now, ours though is aspirated by 3 or 4 injuries and imagine we’re not the only ones on that either.

    Well you are correct.

The older I get the more I am able to not worry about things I cannot control. It's a bit frustrating as it stands the transfer / player situation but at every step you have to remember we have our best owners in many a year. If Trew or Hardy was in charge I would be more concerned. Not sure we will have what it takes to mount a top 3 challenge but there you go.

That's going to be key this season bringing that 86 goals down by a good 30 or more which will offset the loss of Macca's 28 goals.

Besides I believe Jatta and Scott are capable of scoring 20 goals between them. 13 for Jatta and 7 for Scott I don't think is too high an expectation either. As long as McGoldrick, JJ and Crowley and the new midfielders contribute similar amounts of goals to the players that were here last season we will be fine.
I think Jatta will get 20+ on his own.

If you're lucky, you might be old one day.

He will be old sooner rather than later supporting Notts!

He'll have to do it on his own if he's left as isolated as he was yesterday!

I'd mostly agree with that but with a healthy caveat.

When he sees that someone is likely to be in a position to put in a cross, and it will be from deep(ish) rather than bye-line, he just needs to do himself a favour and drift towards the far post. That way he can react better to the flight of the cross - quite a few times he was in the centre and ended up chasing the (overhit) ball (in flight) towards the far post. Macca wasn't brilliant in the air but he was brilliant at giving himself options, and Jatta needs to do that.
Having said all of that I think he will be a cracking signing judging on what we have seen last season and a little bit of this.

What happened to us not being a selling club anymore???

Both Crowley and JJ are under contract and if we're serious about promotion this season we need then both. Selling either of them is pure promotion suicide in my eyes. JJ I think will see out his contract, Crowley may go for the extra £££ in his pocket though. We seem more obsessed with balancing the books than gaining promotion!!
