So maybe judge them on whats *actually* happened, rather than what half this board wants to happen so they can say ‘told you so’.
We havent sold any players prior to this season, so how could we have been promoted ???

Sold Roberts, Wooton moved on (not sold), I think the point is ultimately if you sign players that then improve and you either sell them or they move higher at the end of their contract, as long as you are proactively bringing those sort of players in constantly it should work. The best example is probably Posh and they’ve actually started spending more fees on players coming in as we have recently which is something to my knowledge we haven’t done for a very long time.

As mentioned, Roberts was sold, IB was allowed to go to Forest Green for a hefty fee, Wootton and Rodrigues allowed to leave on frees to boost the teams promotion chances - not very 'selling club' of us.

Roberts was sold because he was injury prone and didn't suit our formation anymore so to get money for him was great. IB didn't get us promotion although he put the building blocks in place to what we became under LW so to get a hefty fee was very good business. Wootton and Rodrigues couldn't be replaced in their respective January transfer windows so it would have been bad business to let them leave.

This is why it's so odd about Nemane and to a point Langstaff/Morias. It's been bad business to not replace either of those outgoings, so why did we do it?

Burchnall would most probably had been sacked if he wasnt poached by FGR.

I’m not going to disagree with you on that one as I think the potential is there. Two goals in three games and a similar one goal in two games last season. So my estimate was a conservative guess to try and prove a point.

It’s also why I feel some people are worrying too much about the loss of Macca’s 28 goals and wanting the club to bring in a replacement. He’s already here it’s Jatta the way I see it.

The only caveat is if Jatta remains fit. But it would have been the same last season Macca could have got injured at any point. We were lucky he played for two seasons without any real issues. A league two club is not going to bring in a 15-20 goal a season striker to sit on the bench just in case either and if we only play one up top then where does the second striker play? Left Mid, Right Mid, CAM? I would say perhaps we may bring cover in as in a different kind of option up top especially with Morais leaving. A young fast paced youth on loan from a premier league or championship team.

I’ve watched the Fleetwood game and I think Nick Tsaroulla is one who showed he has the potential to be exciting like JJ and Crowley and get some assists and goals this season. Those three behind Jatta could be quite a force.

You said it was bad business not to replace the names you mentioned! However as you confirmed, the transfer window is not closed therefore replacements could be one the way as we speak...I think you are a little premature! I hope this is not a continuing problem for you..?!xx

Time will tell whether they’ve been replaced well, but I think the club would argue that they have replaced Nemane with Gordon and Langstaff with Jatta, and the fact that their ‘replacements’ were signed before they were sold is a sign of a club that is being run well.

Morias they’d probably argue wasn’t worth replacing because he might as well have not existed!
