Hes a lesser defender than both Schar and Botman in almost every aspect of the game, if you look at the stats.

At max worth £45 mil, and thats including the english tax (still trying to figure out why that is any advantage)

This is my thinking too. I actually am a fan of Guehi but he's not better than Schar and 70 million is a lot for a backup. I wouldn't move Botman or Burn from the left side either.

Agree. Total waste of time and energy. Dissapointed that our DOF didnt sniff it out early on that they was going to ask silly money.

Not worth it, too much time used on this deal and luckily they rejected it. Hes not worth that kind of money.

WAY better options out there, but the clock is ticking fast. I hope we withdraw the bid and move on.

Chronicle suggesting that Desassi of Chelsea could be a target if Guehi falls through, I know it’s the chronicle but Mitchell will know him from his time at Monaco, where Chelsea bought him from. I’m not convinced about him, from the little bit I saw of him but hey ho!

He looked weak playing on the left against Brentford, the longer this goes on the less bothered I am about not getting him,think he’s overhyped and overrated personally, and he’s not tall enough for a CB in the premier league, I like them BIG!

It's still mind-blowing that we're in a position to be paying £70 million for a player...but I'd like it to be on a mind-blowing player which he isn't.

We're paying (or would be) the English player tax compounded by the Newcastle tax and the fact that Palace have to give Chelsea a decent chunk of whatever they get for him.

I hope we move on...which inevitably means he'll be here by Friday

Personally I would not take any player from Chelsea. I think every team should refuse to buy Chelsea's players. Let Chelsea deal with them mess they have created for themselves.

Exactly this. Chelsea have been playing the same game for years, often at their players expense and other clubs inconvenience.

Now it is coming home to bite them on the backside with the size of the squad they have and the ridiculous wages they have players on which won't stand a chance of getting a game.
