    MagpiesPlayer

Have any of the foreign viewers of the stream experienced problems with the new player?

I have been having trouble with it ever since the new one came online before the Tranmere game. The picture quality is poor, the audio worse, and it keeps juddering. I have tried different devices, different browsers, cleared my browsing history and cache, but no improvement.

It isn't just the live stream either. I have tried to watch the replay of last night's game, and experience the same problems.

Is it just me, or are others having similar issues streaming from abroad?

こんばんは (Good evening) from Kobe, Japan!

I have only been able to stream the Fleetwood game. The only problem I encountered was periodic buffering. One annoying thing I've found with PiesPlayer is that, as far as I can tell, you can't adjust the quality of the live stream. I've found on other platforms such as Youtube that turning down the quality of livestreams can prevent buffering, and I will accept watching in say 480p instead of 1080p if that gives me a consistent feed.

I haven't had issues with the picture and audio of livestreams, nor replays or postmatch interviews and the like, either on my Chromebook device (Chrome browner) or on the Notts County App on my phone.

Might be worth getting in contact with the club regarding your issues?

Thanks. I did email the club after the Tranmere game, and have done so again. No response yet, but it's good to read you have not had the same trouble.

The Tranmere stream really sucked. The Fleetwood stream was fine until the last 5 when buffering got a bit out of control, but it was still watchable.

I didn't watch Grimsby live but indeed the replay is unwatchable due to the appalling audio from just before our second. Since that happens across my devices but it is fine up to that point, I guessed it was a recording issue.

PiesPlayer is supposed to dynamically adjust the quality based on the bandwidth - I have seen it switch mid-stream.

    Pies player is so frustrating

Every season they change the layout and format for no reason
This time so far the sound quality is poor, jumping all over the place, there seems to be no live table either. and another annoying thing is the live audio only starts when the match starts , why doesnt it start 30 mins before so you can listen to stallard and co, it often starts several mins after the match has started, and often cuts out as soon as match ends, so you cant listen to the post match analysis and manager interview

Quite frankly the whole thing could be so much better

Just want to check back in on this as I think I might have caught the stream on a good day for the Fleetwood game. I've just decided to pay for the Swindon stream and am now encountering some of the issues mentioned by sinophile - juddery audio and picture and periodic buffering that is worse than the Fleetwood game for sure.

I noticed that the following message has appeared when you go to buy a streaming pass:
"Please be advised, however, that a connectivity issue - outside the club’s control - and which has been affecting ours and a small number of other clubs' commentary services recently, will not be resolved in time for today’s game. This means supporters will experience a reduction in sound quality on their commentary/live stream this afternoon. Please be assured that we share fans' frustrations and are in regular dialogue with the relevant parties to ensure this issue is corrected as soon as possible."

Sounds like there are indeed issues, so hopefully they are resolved!

It has been next to useless for me. With both goals it has been impossible to know what happened. I emailed the club after the Fleetwood game. They said all they do is relay the stream they are given. That's not good enough, I buy the stream from Notts. the retailer is responsible for the product they sell. This is not fit for purpose, and it doesn't look like it's likely to improve.
