My post wasn’t aimed at you Gunboat. Although you’re often quite harsh about Dundee on here you’re fair though.my post was really aimed at the resident United mad spin doctor .

If all this gets the go-ahead then I will be jealous! Looks like a really good project and as much as I like tannadice If it was us getting what they have proposed then I’d be really looking forward to it!

Will just have to wait until we get a Saudi owner that will build us a stadium complex on the water front close to the V&A
If i was offered a 50/50 deal with The Funsters tomorrow to share the new stadium forever i would turn it down in seconds.Did you know that when The Texans are long gone and back home DFC will be tied to a lease for generations paying hundreds of millions in rent and never owning anything?.

The most dangerous position for DFC will come when the Texans have moved on and future owners are saddled with crippling rent that the previous owners have signed the club up to.

Personally I am against this development. I often use camperdown and don’t want the loss of public space and traffic problems

Genuine question - who is paying the £95 Million quoted ?

Its a lot of money to have a stadium that reminds me of mcdermid

From a company owned by The Texans who will probably use hedge funds etc to finance it,Dundee FC will not be saddled with any debt which is good but will be paying millions in rent till the end of time which is bad.

Can’t argue against that mate….i don’t have any inside knowledge about their structure or how the deal will be financed! But id be absolutely flabbergasted if this was a real golden goose egg! There has to be an anterior (financial) motive for the Texans!

That said I’m actually really impressed with the actual plans and drawings etc. the nuts and bolts of it look really good!

But so does a mansion over the road from me but I wouldn’t mortgage my future for it to be fair!

    Just to add

Dark Blue Property Holdings are NOT Dundee FC.
Years ago DBPH said they would buy Dens back but for many years never did so. But, recently they did. Fine so far but once again it means that DBPH own Dens, not Dundee FC.

So DBPH would own any new stadium AND Dens Park. At some point they could sell their whole stake in the Campy project and sell Dens Park. That is their end game, Commercial profit from property deals which end up with DFC owning nothing more than a lawnmower and a strimmer. And paying rent for ever more on a stadium they don't own, at the mercy of any new landlord.

A large part of Riverside is being funded by, and I quote, 'Scottish FA’s Grassroots Pitch and Facilities Fund and the UK Government’s Levelling Up Fund', hence why they are punting it as a 'community training facility'. It's the largest community sports grant in Scottish football history, I believe. A large part is also being funded by ALK Capital, the owners of Burnley. They are also in on the Campy deal, with DBPH.

Dont think they can build it where they want to in the form of the artist impression that come out a couple of weeks ago?

As I stated previously, the training pitches aren't going to be there. The new training facility at Riverside will house them. That land on Campy isn't part of the stadium deal and they already own the rest of the land that they need. In fact, I believe they've already sold part of that land for housing and made more money back than they originally purchased it for.
