On the face of it, this looks like a great bit of business by RM. Exactly what we need at this time - and there's no reason why he can't be competing for a place, with a good chance of claiming a regular spot.

Palmer's still gingerly returning from major injury, Hinchy's made an OK but maybe not play-off level start. But to me Robertson's Notts career is beginning to look ill-starred; injuries, ill-timed sending off, passes that hit his own post, hasn't scored, hasn't really assisted. His first 8 months with the club have been a bit of a mess really.
We need Abbott, cos we need 2 from those 4 to have very strong 40+ game seasons.

Anyway, I'm happy because when I first saw the headline I though Gregg Abbott was coming back.

But we won't bring anyone else in we have run out of time and relegation is possible!

Would like to see another good quality forward but as long as we can remain not too bad with injuries I would be surprised if we are not in the top 7 at the end of the season. Anything else for me would be a bonus.

My Spurs mate reckons this lad is a winner. We will see.

You just made me shiver and it's 34 degrees here today in Winter.

Ha ha, I'd rather have Russ Abbott in charge, with Diane Abbott as DoF

Spurs and winning things historically don't go together unless you are going back 60 years.

A welcome addition. Looking competitive in midfield.

Signing a highly rated player from a top six club is impressive. Equally impressive is the way Abbott talks about wanting to play games and force his way into the reckoning for the England under-20s.

Sign a forward today, keep Dan and JJ, win at Swindon tomorrow and we’ll have had a very good start to the season.
