For once it was nice to be in a home end and hear someone shout at the end 'you're not fit to wear the shirt.' Great result, I thought we were ok, defensively well set up, but going forward I thought we were quite poor tbh, they must have gifted us possession 4 times in dangerous positions, and each time we gave it straight back or picked the wrong option and didn't even get a shot away, we also missed some decent headed chances, not even testing the keeper.

Hearts were definitely there for the taking today, great time to get them, total lethargy in their stadium. Saw plenty of empty seats, don't know if they were unsold or people not turning up, but that could easily have translated into half an away end.

Great views from their main stand.

When the fixtures came out i had written off this fixture. Thank you for proving me wrong and keep up the good work.

Why did the international break have to come along though!

Re the Break, swings and roundabouts I think. The players going abroad will go with a spring in their step and will be looking forward to coming back to a big home clash with the Kings 11.

The players have worked themselves hard out of possession, not seen this for quite a while, it's probably taken a little out of them. So maybe a break isn't the worst thing and 2 weeks for Sevco to stew on a terrible start for them.

Yes it maybe breaks our momentum a wee bit but it should ensure most players are bang ready for the next game.

It was sold out so the empty seats are ST's that have seen enough

Didn't see the game but caught the highlights on Sportscene just now. Happy with what's been said though from people who saw the whole game. Really pleasing to come away with 3 points and a clean sheet. Defence looking really solid since we beefed up the midfield. It is coming at the detriment of our free flowing attacking play but hopefully that will improve going forward and some of our as yet untried additions may help with that. I'll take any kind of positive result against the Zombies but we should be going into that game with the same fight and determination so I'm fearing them not one bit. Good to be sitting 3rd and with a cup quarter final to come.

    A beautiful Sunday indeed!

What a victory.......the lad Ferry has been a phenomenal signing, what a player......still not convinced by Babunski I'm afraid but I'm sure he's been shoehorned on the right because we have no one else so why didn't we sign a right midfielder? Hate being negative as we look to have everywhere else on the park covered but this area is definitely our weakest area and in my opinion it stops Richardson from flying forward the way Ferry does on the left because Ferry has a natural left sided player in front of him in Traps who is comfortable. Big mention for Van De Sande too who worked his socks off and had his best game in a tangerine shirt today....🎶🎶Hearts,Hearts are falling apart again 🎶🎶at the end was FAF😂😂

    It's magic 🧡

I think quite a few are underestimating Goodwin's learning curve, plus the fantastic recruitment of football 'intelligent' players.

The way we played today reminded a bit of unfancied foreign clubs that have gone to the likes of Ibrox in Europe and won.

By that I mean set a defence up that's hard to get behind on the wings and also hard to play through in the centre. Be resilient, work hard for each other, hold the ball in, find a teammate with a simple ball. Frustrate the hell out of them, stay patient then find a way to get that goal.

OK it wasn't vintage Villareal, we gave it away on occasions but like you said Van de Sande was that focal point. The whole team are trying to play. Even with Hearts problems it was never a given that we'd get one point never mind 3. We had to work so hard and in the end we really deserved it. The scenes with the players at the end says this is a very happy group all working for each other.

    Beautiful Sunday 🧡

Edit to add Whitfield I think Babunski is struggling a wee bit with this formation. Not at his best today or v St J either, best position for him imo is centre mid in a 433.
Might be some time before we see that formation again though.

He's got a tendency to dwell on the ball too long and get caught, he's maybe not fully adjusted to the speed of the Scottish game yet. But I think there's a lot more to come from him.

Bubuski was poor. I wouldnt be against playing a front two of VDS and Trapenovski or Moult so we csn then play bubnski central. Give him more options in front of him to pass to and let him control the game from the middle. This lop sided thing we have going on right now is not workimg great going forward.

On a side note that big lump from Wrexham looks miles off it. So slow in his body movements. Id rather see Moult and VDS play a full 90 so they ge some time together for a bit before this guy gets any game time. Moult looks like hes got that fire in his belly to prove he should be starting. Lets harness that into some goals.

The defence has been excellent though. Ross Graham knocking on that Scotland door. He is twice the defender Souttar is.

If this is going to be the formation we play from now on then I can't see VDS lasting 90 minutes in many or any games as he has to put so much effort in so we'll need our forwards to be ready from the bench when needed.
