That's sad news and a bit of a surprise, from his posts on here you would never have suspected that was becoming a problem for him.

Unfortunately sinkov, I can only relay the information I was given and it does make sense. My mother's sister (my aunt on mum's side) developed the symptoms really quickly but I'm not an expert on the onset of dementia. I can only wish him well.

It seems sudden too. Sometimes an infection can cause symptoms which appear to be dementia. Let’s hope Balan improves and gets back in touch with us.

Thanks for the update BY. It certainy surprised me because of his postings in the past, however, having seen my dad go downhill very quickly, it brings back memories. I can only hope that he is not too bad.

Thanks BT,so sad is dementia,my mate who was a managing director of a big company and great marathon runner succumbed to dementia, a horrible disease indeed. Hoping Balan can improve. 🙏

I echo all of the above sentiments, I visit my old mum in a care home and 80% of the occupants have dementia, it's an awful disease.

The lad who answered my enquiry did a Facebook thing and put Balan on a video, he is absolutely alive and kicking but as mad as a box of frogs (in the nicest way possible!) At least he is alive.

His posts were so lucid up until his absence, it's hard to believe he has declined in such a short time.
